A Crow Left Of the Murder is the new album.

Everything you need to know and see is right here:

There might be some skepticism/criticism/elitism regarding my love for this somewhat mainstream band. Let me say this: If you see their video clips and interviews, and really examine their music, you'll see a chemistry and artistry that many bands these days fail to exude. And I can bet you'll never see Darkthrone or King Crimson surfing or playing with an RC truck. And then proceeding to make music that leaks that same carefree attitude. And I like those bands, too...

The album comes out Feb. 3. For anyone who's heard S.C.I.E.N.C.E. or Morning View, you know what level of music to expect.

Cheers.

trying too hard? I think it sounds like they're going for the Fungus Amongus days with a little of S.C.I.E.N.C.E. thrown in there. I've been following Incubus for awhile now. I can play almost every Incubus song on guitar except for matching Mike's effects on the guitar... which reminds me, Rolling Stone I think name him guitarist #41 on the 100 greatest guitarists of all time. Jimi Hendrix got #1 which is fuckin stupid... but anyway yea i LOOOOOOOVE Incubus and me and my friends here are really anxious about the new album. That video on the site of Brandon's injury re-enactment of when he slipped on dog shit was pretty hillarious.

Damn, I can't wait :) :) :)

Yes, i'm looking forward to this too. I've enjoyed everything Incubus has released; even the 'matured' and mellow Morning View, while peppered with heavy parts that began to seem more of a chore than anything else, was still a very emotional and textured album.

Whew...

Glad to know people appreciate them.

The new song's interesting. Brandon sings it a little high, but the guitarwork is really catchy, and Mike got over the whole "powerchord death chorus" thing on Make Yourself.

Hopefully with the new bassist some of the funk and stuff will return. I saw a lot of ethnic percussion in that studio...oh boy...

They've also picked up speed. They sound like that garage-rock thing with heavier riffs and more interesting chords. All we need is some more scratching...

I don't know. I think the album will take some getting used to, and will blow me away like every Incubus release.

\m/

only time i listen to them is when someone else plays it and i have to lsiten to it, imean dont get me wrong, its not bad music, much better than everything else out there in the form of mainstream new music, but i just dont really get turned on by it.

That's cool.

I'd pick up S.C.I.E.N.C.E. anyway, just to have it as part of your collection. Who knows, you might get into it someday. That's one of their less mainstream albums...

There's gonna be a DVD released with the debut version of the cd on Feb. 3rd that has the Injury Re-Enactment, Pistola and Megalomaniac live at Lollapalooza videos, and a couple tracks from the Bridge School concert on it. I'm probably going to line up outside of Best Buy the first day it comes out before the store opens. ;)

I didn't know Incubus were Metal, i always thought they werew a Rock band. I've heard a few older songs which weren't bad, but the newer stuff is a bit too, er... cant think of the right word. anywho, Brandon Boyd's vocals piss me off so I've never been able to fully appreciate them.

they're not metal. They were always more alternative than anything. Most metallers can't stand Incubus because of the good vocals, so that's understandable.

Anyone know why Mike changed his PRS Endorsement over to Fender now? I saw a fender in the Megalomaniac video and also at a few live ones. PRSes are so much better, but I guess he changed just to get a different sound for the new album.

Hey Nocturnal,
This might be irrelavent to the Thread, I just wanna know
Why u think Jimi Hendrix getting #1 Guitarist as fuckin stupid.. ???, According to u Who shud have got the # 1 ??? and IMO atleast he getting the #1 spot is way better than The Beatles sissy guitarist George Harrison and ppl of his caliber. Just Curious !!!. Hopefully i will get a Reply :loco:

How did the Stincubus guitarist make it on to a greatest guitarist list.
