Is Summoning good?

Too bad none of the scenery ever fucking came with the figures.

Fuck misleading advertizing.

I KNOW!

But to be fair, it does make the disclaimer that it doesn't in SOME OF THEM.

Also, I love how old Barbie commercials had to put a disclaimer that the dolls don't move on their own. Goddamn, are kids fucking stupid.

Haha, funny posts there V.

I don't use the word extreme, i just say that i like Death, Black and Thrash Metal.

And yes Summoning is really good. Plus, i like their lyrical theme. I like Tolkien's works. It is like you're preparing for battle with the orcs. Haha, good shit! Get them all!

Haha I find that hilarious. Speaking of disclaimers, I am reminded of the disclaimer Viagra makes along the lines of "If your erection doesn't subside within ____ hours, consult your doctor immediately." hehehe

The only thing I can't stand about Summoning are the Fisher Price keyboards they seem to use. And in response to the comparison between Summoning and Wagner: there's really no comparison in terms of quality. I'll take the real masters over Summoning any day. Who made that comparison anyway? I bet it was that idiot SRP.

extreme makes me think of a Mountain Dew commercial, with guys surfing lava..............

Summoning are pretty good, albeit they need more production value and a real drummer.

It all depends how you define metal. It "sounds" metal to me, although while listening, I do get a fil score or classical music vibe from it. There is always that satisfying metallic crunch somewhere in the background. Either that or a BM shriek or two to keep the aggression factor intact, which, paradoxically, makes Summoning simultaneously sophisticated beyond belief for a metal band and yet lack that ability to transcend metal's metal's distortion dimension (aggressive wall of guitar or riff-like buzz) makes it fall just shy of classical's brilliance.

Good shit, nonetheless.

How the hell is the thick wall of synths on Stronghold or Let Mortal Heroes Sing Your Fame "fisher price?"

Refering to Summoning as "neo-Wagnerian" is much different than saying that they sound exactly like Wagner. Their music sounds like it is heavily enriched by the epic power of Wagner's works, and the neoclassical ambient atmosphere justifies a label such as "neo-Wagnerian."

Agreed. Because Wagner rules.
