Isis

lurch loving ISIS the way he does is funny since he's the one always calling everyone pinkage. even funnier is that Panopticon is their least brutal album.

fans of the last two should definitely get SGNL>03

Celestial is much more -core, but still have enough Isisisms to please fans of the later stuff.

the first two EPs are pretty much pure sludge noise

i told Jk before this very same thing ... there is no sarcasm smiley ... the closest I can get is this guy :loco:

I saw Mono and Pelican last night, and one of the opening acts was Isis' Mike Gallagher doing a brief set of solo guitar soundscapes...very cool, and I got to speak with him between sets (along with members of both headliners)...Isis enters the studio at the beginning of next month.

ISIS, the innovative Los Angeles-by-way-of-Boston-based band, will release its fifth full-length album, "Wavering Radiant", on May 5 via Ipecac Recordings. The CD, produced by Joe Baressi (TOOL, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE), will receive a limited-edition vinyl release on April 21. TOOL's Adam Jones contributed guitar to two songs from the LP.

Guitarist/vocalist Aaron Turner recently discussed the new album with Billboard, saying "This is a better sonic representation of what the band actually sounds like. In the past I think some of the recordings were a little too clean in their final form. There was something about the energy that seemed to be lacking. It seems to feel more like us than anything else has."

Drummer Aaron Harris added, "I feel a sense of completion with this record that I've never felt before. We spent more time creating this record than we have with any other, and I feel in my heart that this record is in many ways our best."

"Wavering Radiant" track listing:

01. Hall Of The Dead
02. Ghost Key
03. Hand Of The Host
04. Wavering Radiant
05. Stone To Wake A Serpent
06. 20 Minutes / 40 Years
07. Threshold of Transformation

ISIS' latest album, "In the Absence of Truth", was released in October 2006 through Ipecac.

I sincerely wish that this album has more balls to it than ItAoT. Sadly, I fear that their best days are behind them. New fan base to please.

i like it better myself ... the guitars are too buzzzy on Oceanic ... i like when ISIS' low end is clear and punchy like on Panopticon

I just think that alot of the atmosphere created in Isis tracks is destroyed by that wailing hooligan.

I only own City of Echoes from Pelican and dig every second of it. I wish they had a vocalist.

It's good you enjoy City of Echoes because it was the downfall of Pelican and a complete trash album while before they made it, they were one of the best bands out there.
