I've got the fire karaoke mix

ok lads.....FFIINNNAAALLLLLLLYYY got a copy of this song.......!!!!!!! ( lil dig at ya MM......but only joking...your a legend and thanx a million for emailing it over......)....and heres my review.... :)

Ok.... now ive NEVER heard this song before in my life.... not even maidens version..... so im going in cold on this one.....!!! I gotta say the actual song didnt appeal to me at all..... but maybe vocals would help and even hearing the almighty maiden play it might change that view...... but first impression was i cant wait to hear the original to see how this sounds with vox cause as an arrangement it wasnt too appealing....!

PLAYING....on the other hand.....was pretty farkin cool...... once again everones come to the fore and just wailed.....!!!!!

Drums ( as usual....) totally rocked again MM.....

Bass...... great riffage..... blues scales working overtime there...LOVED IT......

Solos...... WOW..... thats damn fast pickin there whoever's it was....... not just fast... MEGA SHRED DUDE..... im impressed......

Overall..... its another one of the guilds finest......i wasnt keen on the song....( maybe someone can email me the original so i can thrash it out and eventually ill love it.....)..../.. but as a recording goes it smoked....

Did i mention great guitar solo...... oh...i did..... ;)

(sorry bout the book.... and im definately no music critic either....sorry lads...)

:)

Adde: Somehow I missed your comment when you posted it. All I have to say to you is :p

Meds: As Hyde pointed out, we played the song with a slightly different feel (Maiden plays the main riff a little more laid back) but its pretty much like the original. I'll mail you the two versions maiden recorded....one in the studio as a B side with bruce (which we mostly copied) and the original live version with Dianno on vox. Maiden started playing this cover (originally recorded by Montrose...and I think it was Sammy Hagar who wrote the bulk of the tune) live with Dianno...its more of a straight rock and roller..and fit with earlier Maiden tunes/Diannos voice better. Its definately nothing like Miadens stuff with Bruce.

Ok..I'm done with my Maiden History lesson for today.

PS. Are you talking about _my_ solo in this song (during solo section)? Mega shred? Mega fast picking? MM must have mixed somebody else in there without telling me!

OK guys, instead of getting better, I just about lost my entire voice last night... Went to the Casino with my band (yes they came up and visited!!!). With all the smoke and talk, my voice is toast...

MM - I WILL get another version of the vox done. I'm going to email a few of you guys to get the other version so I can hear how Dianno did it. Hopefully my voice will be back in form this weekend... And other then having my 10th wedding aniversery, I have no plans... So I should finish it up and have it to you (crossing fingers) by Monday.

MM: Can you mail the original to me? I'm keen on hearing the Montrose version..as I never have. Thx.

Jim: Good luck with your voice. Gratz on the 10 year anniversary.

Cheers for the original coys of these songs rabs...... :)

And i gotta say..... OH HELL YEAH...!!!! Funny how a song totally changes its character with a few vocal lines thrown in on top.....

It sounds WAAAAAYYYYY better..... and now i can finally appreciate even more the effort you lads put into your version....

Great stuff.......and cool song.....!!!

:)

OK, my production of nasty green loogies is starting to slow down! So I hope that I can do the vox for this one this weekend. Expect something a little different from what you got B4. After hearing Dianno's version, I think mine will be somewhere between the two stylistically.

I'm planning on keeping that last "Ive got the fire" I already did. I think thats more of the general direction I'm heading.

It might take a bit longer to recover well enough to do the final choruses to Chemical, but that one's next on the list.

Cheers!

I tried singing last night for the first time in a week and my voice is still shot. It's close, but not close enough for recording anything.

I'll keep popping the throat losengers and keep ya posted.

Okay, I finally got around doing the last bit for my basstrack for this one.

It's up on MM's Myplay account.

Criticism encouraged. :)

Now I'm going to dl the karaoke version to hear how much my track sucks compared to Hyde's...

Almost forgot: The track needs quite a bit of compression. I didn't add any myself because of a) I don't have a software good enough to do it, and b) so that MM can compress it the way he likes to.

Was there a final vocal track laid down for this one, I remember Jim have some throat problem, it was a few weeks back so I dont remember clearly..anyone?
