There is this one song from john coltrane that has several instruments playing at once/all improvised. I always referred to it as the chaos song,I have been trying to obtain this album but I forgot the name of it.So I figuered since some of you hear listen to jazz some of you will know what song/album I am talking about, and if you do please mention! Thanks!

Its called Free Jazz and is a quite popular but misunderstood movement this days. I never got my hands on the original recordings but i got some recordings called complete impulse recordings collection that consisted on various cds but i got like 2 of them. One of them have several songs that are free jazz: Joy, Compasion, etc. I hope you get into trane he was amazing to improvise, i highly recomend Giant Steps if you know a bit about theory check out how he is changing dominants ( that means different scales ) all the time is like a new tonality every 2 chords and he improvises like it is the easiest thing in the world...amazing the keyboard player made an atempt to improvise but 3 times he stopped halt because he was so lost in the uptempo fast changing song. Really quite a classic i love that song.

Yeah free jazz is an odd style.I remember the first time my friend put that type of music on. I was puzzeled at first, mainly due to the fact that it was different, but I observed it for while and really started to enjoy quite a bit, just love music that has a lot variables,I guess thats what made it so interesting.

And yeah giant steps is a great song. The first time I heard it was in 93.I just love the constant fast paced walking,it keeps it really enjoyable throughout the song.
