Arcturus-The Sham Mirrors

From start to finish this album is AMAZING. More straight forward than LMI but much more consistent. Also, thats Vortex singing on "Master of Disguise" (the beginning) and he does all the vocals in "The Chaos Path", which is the best Arcturus song. Clearly.

Arcturus's first album is decent. Now heres the important thing

Sideshow Symphonies was the last Arcturus album, and had only Vortex on it. It gets A LOT of shit. Listen to it and decide for yourself though, yeah, the production went WAY down but there are some good moments on it.



And some Solefald. Pills Against The Ageless Ill's is amazing.

almost all, garm is there a little bit. and it is definitely a contender for best arcturus song, but i certainly wouldnt say its "clearly" the best. thats just your 'vortex' bias talking.

Personally, I thought Vortex sounded good on Sideshow Symphonies, but that's based on samples and a couple of full songs here and there. I only have "Aspera Hiems Sympohnia" and "Sham Mirrors" in my collection but I do wanna get that album one of these days. And just to get back to Borknagar, all of them are works of art IMO
