Some of these posts are absurd. All the albums have their merits, production-wise. The strangest mix for me is the intro to Colossus, it's so saturated it just breaks up! So much fucking bass on the toms! I like it though, it adds to the character of that song...
Initially I thought Quintessence sounded like shit. But after I warmed up to it and learned the ins and outs of the songs, I love it. 'Forgettable'!! :zombie: My fucking ass! You're probably just not ready for Quintessence yet.
It's a really strange sounding album- kind of experimental in a way. Almost like how a 'wall of sound' shoegaze album would be mixed.
You can't hear the bass guitar on any Borknagar album? Get better gear ffs. Every album has very audible bass.
