It sucks. But honestly, I've become a bit immune to it anymore. My last relationship (also my very first) lasted 5 years. That shit was a bit rough when it ended since I had never been through anything like that before. Now I have found an awesome girl but she's controlled by alcohol and pretty much every time she drinks she turns into a drunk 12 year old girl who drank for the first time. Not really, but she gets stumbling and slurring and stuff. And I can't handle that shit. I love me some beer and I can put some back but I don't get totally retarded every time I do. But....it's "not fair" when I try to lay down an ultimatum for her of either me or booze.
I don't know what to do anymore. It causes fights. We've only seen each other a few times in the past 3 weeks or so since she's staying at my friends to take care of his gf after surgery. And just about every time we hung out the past few weeks a fight has broken out. It's strange to go from living with someone to never seeing them.
Anyway, enough of me whining. Guess I better finish digging that hole in the back yard......

Shit dude, that blows. Personally, if I'm ever unhappy in a relationship, I hit the abort button and get out of it. There is no point in making yourself miserable. We are only on this Earth for so long, there is no point in not being happy with the people you are around. It's hard though to think about that when you've been with someone so long. Best of luck!

Thanks brother! It is rough and it's a tough call. We've been together now for about a year and a half. I know these problems can be fixed, but it appears we are both really stubborn sometimes and don't want to "give in". I've "kicked her out" a handful of times and "that's it; we're done!!" has been said by both of us a few times, but things always turn around.
