Last movie you've watched

Hahah, aye. Further proof was when I saw Ardal a few months back, he told an anecdote regarding some fellow who tried to file suit against the makers for supposedly plagiarising his personality in Father Jack's character ("Why the fuck would ye claim to be like Father Jack?!").

Movies...Red Heat - good buddy-cop flick where Belushi and Ahnuld compliment each other in a lightly humorous way.

 Yus! I saw Red Heat too! Actually I saw it on Wednesday AND Thursday on ITV4! I love that movie. I'm moving to Russia soon and I've heard it's a figure of fun there for being absolutely terrible.

I saw Son of Rambow today. Immensely enjoyable movie. So similar to Be Kind Rewind it's curious though. I can't recommend it to the usual crowd here, but it's an excellent movie.

Hah, same.
Moving to Russia? 'Absolutely terrible'?

-"Since I figure cops are cops the world over... How do you Soviets deal with all the stress and tension?"

-"Vodka."

Son of Rambow seems likeable, but I saw Be Kind.. and was hardly as impressed others were.

I liked Be Kind, I thought it was a very accomplished movie, quite subtle and genuine. Moving to Russia indeed.

Granted, it does work. I was most impressed by their weirdly well done reinterpretations of classic/cult movies. But I concede having a partisan bias that doesn't find Jack Black to be worthy of all his worship, and just wasn't as amused or touched by it as hoped.

I just noticed the new Indiana Jones will be out in 46 days, 7 hours, 1 minute and 20 seconds. It's going to be so awesome I cannae wait.

I think Black has reserves that he rarely taps. I don't like everything, but some of his stuff is wonderful. I thought Mos Def was excellent - definitely the greatest thing about the movie.

Not too excited about the new Indy. I'll go see it with an open mind, but I'm saving all my excitement for Iron man, The Dark Knight and Hellboy, the latter two especially.

Yeah, he was good. And I did see some charm in the VHS theme - probably nostalgic or something.

I predict all the hallmarks of a classic Indy movie, done by (almost) all the right folks; it seems like a perfect Blockbuster, and not cynically either. Naturally, I love the prior 3, so it's a no-brainer. Could just be childish excitement though...

That said, I'm most excited for The Dark Knight and Wall-E. All others, Iron Man, Incredible Hulk etc. I could take or leave. There're movies in '09 and '10 I'm more excited/curious about.

Iron Man is one to watch. Downey Jnr looks like he's absolutely nailed it. Wall-E sounds interesting, I hear it has no dialogue?

Viewed three throwaway comedies last week.

The new Pink Panther with Steve MArtin. A travesty to the character, the series, and to Peter Sellers. But, at least it made me chuckle at times.

You ME and Dupree. 45 minutes was all I could stand. Awful, and not funny.

Waiting. Okay and somewhat funny.

DEATH PROOF A Quentin Tarantino Film

Watched this movie lastnight, I don't wont to spoil it for all of you but It's about a............. who..............:erk:

I gave it 5***** out of 5*****great film.:headbang:

Stars: Kurt Russell, Rosario Dawson, Vanessa Ferlito, Rose McGowan

Just saw 21.

Can't say as though I could recommend it.

I saw the movie 21 and i liked it very much... different then the book though (Bringing Down the House by Ben Menzrich) but entertaining nonetheless... also I'm a blackjack player and can count somewhat for many years now so I have a interest in the movie in that regards as well.... The asian chick is hot in the movie... hope to see her in other movies... The only scene in the movie that was the same as the book was when he went to Chinatown to play at the underground casino and they pulled the bag over his head...

I thought Death Proof was awful. Grindhouse altogether was a bad idea. They both seemed to overlook the irony in even making the movies. That said, I've never liked Tarantino all that much. Reservoir Dogs and Jackie Brown are really good, but I could happily leave the rest. Indeed my favourite movie of his is True Romance, and he only helped write it.

21 wasn't too bad, huh? I was cautious but it turned out not too bad. It's throwaway, but so is most cinema.

21 was just really empty...it started off alright. But the ending was terrible. The script was exceedingly awkward. I will say that Spacey rocked, and the comedy that was in the movie was pretty funny. But very, very pointless film.

I personally thought Grindhouse was amazing, and that's all I have to say on that subject.

Just watched that 'Wizard of Darkness' movie. The film was entertaining but the plot could have been better. Nice lesbian action though, heh

Just watched: There Will Be Blood
It was better than I expected. I have heard that this film wasn't great except for the performance by Daniel Day Lewis. I thought it was a great film and of course Daniel Day Lewis' performance was great.

Pointless to you perhaps because casinos or gambling is of no interest to you. And it's based on a true story so perhaps if you read the book you would appreciate it more (though the movie is almost entirely different from the book). Anyways the point in this movie is you should take risks in life or else you don't have a story to tell (remember that in the movie when he is interviewing for the scholarship?). Anyways i suggest you read the book Bringing Down the House and you'll like the movie better. It was not meant to be a academy award movie type, just a entertaining movie.
