I used to be a dog person until we got our insanely neurotic Border collie/lab mix. She's an intelligent dog but at one point she started loosing her hair. I prefer cats because they don't bark, become neurotic, shed too much. My cats even dig a hole and shit outside!

No time to raise a dog correctly, and I'm against leaving them caged all night while I'm at work. My 2 cats are fairly low maintenance, and I can leave them for 4-5 days without too much hassle, or having to board them.

Yep, that's my reasoning as well. When I was unemployed for a year and a half, I probably could have, but things were so bad, I might have sold it to a foreign family for their BBQ..... At least I still have my soul......mostly
