She definitely got the old pale British wench look down in that film I hate Jude Law but he was tolerable. The movie had too much of a Scooby Doo ending but I guess that is how Sherlock Holmes novels played out.

^Yes, usually they did. But to Conan Doyle's credit, that wasn't a cliché at the time, so it made his novels feel fresh and original. Unfortunately, being so much ripped off, it strikes us as bland and boring. Kinda like the Seinfeld Is Unfunny trope.
