while gardening you can forget about the rest of the world and it eases your mind, i really can recommend it...pity it's autumn now

Yeees, Roger the Gardener is a very happy man (New Headway Intermediate, Unit 2), he lives in central London in a flat but works in the suburbs. He's got a little van in which he keeps all his toooools. He used to work in an office but his head was wrecked, and now he's happy, though he doesn't make too much money in autumn and winter. So he's not making too much money now.

But he's a HAPPY man. He's not married but lives with his girlfriend, Fiona, who's a graphic designer. She earns much more money, but he thinks he enjoys her work more. He cooks the dinner because he arrives home earlier than Fiona. They both collect antique stuff, Roger collects old radios and Fiona collects old cookery books. Sometimes they drive to the countryside in weekends with their dog. They have a happy mundane life. Oh, Roger doesn't do any sport (is this unusual?), and they don't have a television (everybody has a television nowadays, but they don't). He's a really happy man. He doesn't mention music though.
