Andy and I were researching badass pubs in the area. We found a few that are in walking distance, one is a brewpub with decent stuff, the other has a BUNCH of craft shit.

Dan, Nick and I went to a brewpub a few blocks from the Tremont last year. It was dark and in a basement and they had good stuff. Would go again.

I want to go to the Sidebar, which is just a few blocks away right next door to one of the Dunkin Donuts. No idea what they have to drink, but it's the place where all the Baltimore Doom fests used to be held.

http://alewifebaltimore.com/ This place is where you'll find Andy downing St. Bernadus abt 12 and other shit. Likely spending way too much money.

There a few places Inner Harbor that look nice and a good amount East of the venue (like... past the freeway underpass through the ghetto).

Alewife is certainly where I will be sipping on some fine Abt 12 at least once (THE VERY LEAST!), come drink with me and we'll talk about what CDs you should buy the next day. Remember when I was considered the go-to guy for recs? :p

Also, Schmidt, any word on Vince? Getting kinda late tbh. If we don't get him we need someone else lest we all have to pay a bit more. Don't want that.

Got my ticket finally, my piece of shit car has been draining me - bad struts, bad spark plugs and wires, bad ignition coil, and now my catalytic converter is clogged not to mention trans and radiator need a good flush...but fuck that all still making it to MDF.

Uhh yeah I have no idea about my buddy, I think he's still planning on going but I'll get back to you some time tomorrow.

Andy, maybe update the original post with some info and shit like price for the hotel, who's going, etc.

I also sent Jeremy fat stacks of cash through paypal for the room.

Most excellent. No rush on the hotel payment. But remember, I know where you live.

"Planning" is a meaningless word until I hear he bought a ticket.

Thank you kindly, good sir.

So there is an exhibit on the 7th-8th centuries (Byzantium & Islam) going on at the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art. I would kill to go to this, and would have the opportunity to on the drive to or from MDF. Admission to the museum is $25. Kris and Grant et al may or will join me.

Let's do it! Is there any way we could crash in NYC for a night just to have extra time for wandering? I've never been there before.

Btw i'm confused that kris has sent payment (and jeremy has accepted) without confirming whether his friend is coming. Are we still at $145 each or what? I'm willing to pay whenever.

The Met is a fantastic museum, good for you guys. Hopefully they still have all the old statues and remains of sculpture up too, Jeremy will love that. Blew my mind, along with the Richard Serra/early drawings exhibit that was there Spring 2011.

Grant, we are kind of doing it in a less structured way than the way you did it. I'm not as good about money, but the $144+change assumes 6 people per room. I believe we are currently at 5 people per room? so it's likely everyone will end up owing like 30 more dollars. We'll see, unless Vince and Kris' friend go or I can finagle something else.

He sent me $160 so if his friend bails he'll owe another 15, but if he comes I'll deduct the difference from his share of gas/tolls.

That is possible. My uncle has an apartment in Manhattan, but parking would be the most difficult issue. Plus I have no idea if he's there and if we'd be able to crash there if he's not home (he's an acoustic engineer who travels all the time).
