New EP from Rippikoulu - Ulvaja is out after a 21 year hiatus. I've barely listened to it but I really like it. It got really shit reviews on MA though because they sound very different but of course they would its been so long

That is complete bullshit.

It's NOTHING like either of those albums, or really anything they've ever done. The songwriting is laughably bad and completely uninspired. There are a few decent songs but the album as a whole is a flop and should not be compared to any of their previous albums, especially the last 2.

the songs are structured in relatively the same way. if you listen you'll see this is undeniable. the only different song is the title track, which is the strongest on the album. what's different are the melodies in the songs. they're not as strong as earlier albums.

Is it me or a lot of bands resurrecting. I saw this article which states Pink Floyd is going to release a new album after a 20 year hiatus. Doesn't say when though. Reminds me I should dig more into their discography… suppose the rest of their albums are worth checking out.

I heard they got Mark Greening back, then Liz kicked him out. Shame after reading that interview with Oborn saying how happy they were for it to be like old times. :/

Excited for the album regardless, hopefully that artwork doesn't mean it'll be Black Masses all over again because I kinda didn't dig that.

Yeah, I didn't like Carnival Is Forever at all. I liked A View From a Hole but nothing more. I miss Winds of Creation and Nihility era. Generally, I miss Sauron, not that fucking rasta vocalist.
