Got to quickly ask Peter about it a few days ago. He said basically that he needs alot of rest, but they still expect him to make a return to the band, but don't really know when.

You will hear many different explanations but it seems like they are protecting him/his career.
Just go with the Blood Disorder one for now. Although I personally thought the broke arm was just as believable.
I got to see his last performance with the band at STFU tour in St. Louis.
He really did a fantastic job on all four songs and I couldn't tell that he was sick/under the weather ,at all. In fact, he was spot on and kicked muchas Asses on The Grand Conjuration.(I am a dummie)
