Mix 27 Songs performed by 28 Musicians (Raw Live Tracks inside)

Ah ok. :)
Well, I wasn't the one recording it so I don't know all the details but there were 57s for all the guitars, and the snare. DIs for Bass, acoustic guitars. E604 on the Toms. Probably a D6 and some PZM mic for the kick. OHs were some AKGs as well as on the HH.

Re-Uploading everything to MEGA now. Will update the links tonight once it's finished. :)

You could use 7zip to achieve better compression for the files, it's free open-source and available for Windows, Linux and Mac.

Thanks for uploading them, I've been having a blast mixing them :)
I'll upload to soundclound once I'm happy with the mixes :headbang:

not to be rude but in fucking 25 years they didn't learn to get a proper drum sound... :D

Well for one thing the drummer changed every couple of songs. Of course whoever provided the kit didn't put in his best shells and skins. Understandable, no? ;) Besides this is not supposed to be a finished sound otherwise you wouldn't have anything to mix, right? :) Last but not least it's not like there has been the same sound guy for the last 25 years so whoever is at the desk at any given time also has a learning curve.

Bloody hosting services have given me a headache over the last couple days, uploads crashing and stuff... Seems to run quite stable on MEGA now though. Hope to have some links today.

NecroDM: If you can please use any other service than Soundcloud (Dropbox Public link or whatever). The compression is so bad over there and fucks up every mix. :(

Another great mix man. You really brought out the best of the whole performance. Man I had no idea the vocals were so off haha. What did you do to the guitars to beef them up? The original tracks sound kinda thin to me.

New links added to the first post.

Yes, perfectly understandable. It's really great you're sharing these man.

Which were the tightest performed songs in your opinion?
I'll try to mix two or three on a few weeks.

Are you going to give good mixes to the bands?

It's hard to say without listening to all the tracks (which I haven't done yet). At the show they all seemed pretty good but hearing it in a live club is a totally different story than multitracks. ;)

I think Alice In Chains, Down, Killswitch among others were pretty good.

Haven't thought about "giving" the mixes to anybody yet. Also there is no such thing as "bands" in this case. It's just a group of friends/colleagues playing songs together and having fun. Although I'm sure they'd appreciate proper mixes of their performances. So I guess if it's alright with you guys it would be cool to show them the odd mix here and there.

BTW is anyone able to download through Mega? I'm having issues with Chrome.

You have to let it download it itself (it will be downloaded in the main drive so be sure to have free space) and then it will ask you where you want to save it.

Thank`s! I put a Lowcut on the guitars @ 116Hz and took a view dB out @ 400 and 800Hz and put on a highshelf @ 5000Hz. The 200-5k-area is slightly boosted with a MBC.

Cheers!

I just meant the distortion. You mentioned it yourself.
Cool what you got out of the snare. Guess the drumsound wasn't as bad as LBTM said after all. ;)
