Commenting on religion in a legible,at least semi-intelligent manner is social commentary, screaming "Kill the fucking Christians" etc etc etc (like many Satanic bands do) is not social commentary, it's bigoted hate-speech, and while it may be true that Western countries do have relative freedom of expression, there are still certain laws to prevent the publication of hate speech, and somehow these bands still seem to circumvent them. Also, making an album hating Christians because of historical atrocities they committed would be the same as making an album hating Muslims because they did 9/11 etc., and how many companies would be willing to publish and sell such an album? I still think it's a weird kind of hypocrisy....

Sometimes social commentary is loud and offensive, boo hoo.

"Hate speech" laws only apply to minority groups who have been historically discriminated against. I guess it is a weird kind of hypocrisy in that not everyone gets to file hate speech complaints.
