Movies

Princess Bride is so good, the whole viewing experience becomes surreal.

Last night watched Hostage with Bruce Willis. I expected a lot more.

Tonight I'm watching Red Eye. Rachel McAdams is good looking but I wish she'd tramp it up a little. Every girl needs to show a little slut once in a while.

hostage was cool.
red eye was meh. rachel mcadams is hot but ive seen her from some angles where she doesnt look so hot [/zod]
watched history of violence the other night.
******spoiler alert******

when tom fucks up the two murderers, i thought, FUCK YES! but then the movie starts to fade all the way till the end at which point i say, "meh. what the hell was that?"

Screamers

Peter Weller + killer robots = loads of awesomeness.

subtract a few points for having that retard from Caroline in the City, but it still adds up to sci fi greatness.

Yeah, I thought that too, but then it's based on a short comic (which I didn't know) so when you put it in that perspective, it might make sense that it's just this linear series of events. I thought it was really good, but not quite as good as some people made out.

Re: RED EYE -- I thought this was rubbish quite honestly. And it was like a TV episode at 1 hour 15 mins long.

Just saw a Danish movie called Strings. Very interesting and extremely well done. It's all done with marionettes, and while it is quite pretentious, it is beautiful throughout, and has a lot of really nice touches based on the fact they are puppets - when the strng to their head is cut, they die, the doors are just barriers so the strings can't pass through them, loads more. Very epic as well, they have armies for over 50 puppets... Definitely worth seeing if you don't mind arty pretension and want to see something really unusual.

Not bad. It got some great reviews, and yes, there are some very cool moments here or there...

...BUT, this is a film that follows a whole squadron of 10 people and they're all Korean. No joke, but I can barely make them apart.

I honestly don't know how Asians can tell anyone apart themselves. I'm going to ask a co-worker tomorrow. She's from China.

seconded and seconded. the opening credits of HoV say, "based on the graphic novel" so i already knew what i was in for. it really is like a moving comic. maybe like sin city - which i havent seen yet.

just saw "Inside Man". very cool movie. highly recommended. not the best heist movie but puts a pleasant twist on the genre

Goodnight And Goodluck - A CLASS MASTERPIECE

one of the few flicks ever that i shut off half way ... i got it ... just could not give two shits about anything goign on in it.

plus i lived in a Communist nation ... so the premise and witchhunts in the US were laughable at best

I watched OUT (aka Deadly Drifter)

costarring DANNY GLOVER , is it merely random nonsense or a veritable postmodern masterpiece??!

The latter!

but is there even a difference?? That's the beauty of po-mo!

MATCH POINT ... brilliant stuff

Scarlett never looked so good ...

Good to see Ewan Bremmer from Trainspotting in another flick ... love this guy :kickass:
