Movies

Thomas Harris went straight down the toilet several years ago. Fuck Thomas Harris. He's ruined the legacy of Silence of the Lambs. What a dumbass.

True that. Although, when I read the book, "Hannibal", I was really impressed with his writing skills, the way he would describe the setting and in particular just how eloquent Lecter was with every precise detail....but then at the end of it all, I thought, 'man, that story sucked'.

His writing is excellent, his storylines are not. How he came up with Silence of the Lambs is beyond me because that's one of the greatest stories ever told, almost as good as The Karate Kid.

I agree with this assessment. Hannibal seemed over the top to me whereas Lambs was brilliant. As far as the movies go, Brian Cox was a far superior Hannibal than Anthony fatass Hopkins ever was. Hannibal was small and neat, not old, fat, and British.

which is particularly ironic since Brian Cox is old, fat, and British :loco:

lol I was speaking of Manhunter which was filmed in what? '85? Not the same fat and old Brian Cox that was in Mission Impossible 3 or whatever the hell he's been in recently.

Same actors as Shaun? I'm in. I saw the guy who playes Shaun in something recently. I'm pretty sure it was Mission Impossible 3

weeeirrrrrrrddzzzz

Simon Pegg is the name you're after - he was the British tech guy at IMF. And yep, Simon Pegg (Shaun) and Nick Frost (Ed) are the two leads. Bill Nighy (Shaun's father-in-law, Phillip) is in it somewhere too. They even reprise the "What's the matter? Never taken a shortcut?" gag in a fairly ingenious way, judging by the trailer.

go ... run ... and check this flick out.

It's like Tom Cruise stumbling onto the set of Hostel instead of the orgy in Eyes Wide Shot ...

fucking brilliant!
