Movies

Adaptation is the worst movie I've seen in several years, and I'm including League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Day After Tomorrow, and White Chicks in that grouping.

I watched Saved the other night, now THAT was a good, entertaining flick. Plus it bashes the idiocy & hypocrisy that is Christianity, so it's got that going for it as well.

I absolutely LOOOOOVE HARD EIGHT (everyone must see this) plus to a lesser extent BOOGIE NIGHTS .... but MAGNOLIA ... ugh ... what pure self indulgent drivel.

Loved Boogie Nights.
Liked Hard Eight quite a bit.
Magnolia? Meh.

That about sums it up.

Watched Carrie, the new Special Edition DVD, last night. I forgot how cool that movie is. Sissy Spacek has nice b(.)(.)bies.

Eternal Sunshine for the Spotless Mind

Stunning. I guess that's all I can say. Absolutely stunning.
Yesssss!!!! I was amazed (and shocked) at how good this was.

Two oscar hopefuls: Jim Carey and Kate Winslet. And I normally don't rate either of them.

I gained a ton of respect for Jim Carrey when I saw the Truman Show, although I always liked the dude as an over the top comedic actor. Eternal Sunshine was so good even Kirsten Dunst was awesome, and I can't stand that bitch.

EDIT: No wait! It was Man on the Moon! Although Truman Show was grand as well.

The Machinist - really slow, really really slow. Still, it had some interesting things and some of the scenes were so beautifully shot I almost cried (not really, but they were cool). I figured out what was going on way too early for me to truly enjoy it, but it was decent.

May be my memory playing tricks on me, but I thought the slow pacing in that movie was very effective...

hehe ... I am all out of good zingers now :D

saw COLATERAL last night ... what a great fucking flick. Cruise just dissapeared in it, he was not "himself" so to speak. Jamie Fox was amazing ... and Michael Mann ... of course another legendary direction.

The soundtrack was kickass as well .. there was a scene where an Audioslave track played ... that just fit in so fucking well!

I hope the next Audioslave album rules because I didn't like the first one very much, but RATM and Cornell kicked a lot of ass back in the days when they were both kicking a lot of ass. :zombie:

You know, neither one of them really ever kicked ass. It's just that they're looked at fondly in retro because it's amazing to their fans just how much they suck nowadays. I mean, seriously, there isn't an ounce of actual feeling or anything on that Audioslave album.

I suppose late '80s Soundgarden was good, and maybe the first RATM album, but other than that? *vomit*

GODLIKE.

And I like the first two RATM albums. I listened to the first one a few months ago after who knows how long and thought "huh, I guess this still does kick some ass!"

pffffttttttt, SOundgarden always ruled. I love Down on the Upside, and it's probably the most played CD I have of theirs. Cornell's solo CD is alright, in that mellow kinda way.

RATM's debut has it's moments, and it was good when it came out, but I can't listen to too much of that rapping.
