Master Exploder
There is so much good shit out at the moment I can't keep up. There is currently at least 6 movies out I am interested in, and have only seen 1 of them. I caught War Of The Worlds on Wednesday, plan to see Batman Begins Sunday night and Sin City next week sometime.

Usually I am keen to go watch something and there is only crap, but this is insane. Also more good things to come later in the year. Harry Potter and King Kong being obvious ones. Yikes. A good year for films, and likewise a good year for live shows. :headbang:

I'm the opposite... I am not interested in anything that has come out in the last few months! I've had these free Village passes and not even used them yet coz there hasn't even been anything on that I wanna see for FREE just coz I don't wanna sit through 90 minutes of anything showing at the moment!

Episode III was indeed fantastic.

I am not a Russell Crowe fan, but Cinderalla Man looks like it could be good. Also an obvious recipe for Oscar nominations. I wonder if it will win many/any.

Speaking of Oscars, I watched Million Dollar Baby on the plane, and wasn't as impressed as I expected to be...

I saw the Cinderella Man trailer today. Quite good, until Renee Z says, "You're the champion of my heart". That sort of nonsense ruins movies for me.

hahaha, Tom Cruise style.

"You... complete me...."

Why does Renee Z always seem to be in movies with that sort of line?

That Sin City's meant to be very good. I'd like to check it out myself. I've heard good things about War of the Worlds too.

Saw Million Dollar Baby on DVD last week with a few mates. Didn't take it in properly, as we spent too much timing joking about how Jon Bon Jovi was doing really well to play Clint Eastwood, Hillary Swank and Morgan Freeman.

I tell ya, pretending that Jon Bon is playing various parts in movies provides hours of mindless entertainment.

I'm watching Highlander 2 tonight for the first time in many years ($2 on DVD at Cunno's \m/) so I might have to try that out.

Saw Batman Begins on Sunday night, and it was fantastic! Probably the best super hero movie since the original Batman, it was really good. The only thing I am somewhat unhappy with though, is:

SPOILER!!!!!!

If they continue with the story and make more Batman films, re-using the Joker character is a bad idea. Jack's performance as The Joker in the original is possibly my favourite performance ever, and anyone in the same role would pale in comparison, no matter how good. That was my only complaint though, other than that, shit hot film! I really liked the way they handled The Scarecrow character. When I heard he was in it, I was expecting it to be lame, but it was awesome. Rock on.

And Blitzy, I agree about the Scarecrow character. Although I wanted to punch taht chick dude who played him in his fat lips, I did think that it was awesome when he turned into the scarecrow guy..... I thought it actually added a bit of a Se7en element into the franchise.. Which hasn't been done before in superhero films. I mean, when he had the SC mask on, the industrial music, the stylistic filtering and filming, the lighting and fast paced/blurry shots gave it a real horror/slasher/underground feel. Like 7, Saw etc.

Highlander 2= Worst. Sequel. Ever.

Sin City= :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: squared. I adore the comics, and if it wasn't for the meeting I have to snore through at so-called work today, I'd be seeing it right now.

I love it. At least they were trying something new with a sequel instead of rehashing the original one. They actually went in an entirely new direction, there are great comedy moments, awesome actions scenes, great music and CONNOR MacLEOD'S COMPLETELY WEIRD ACCENT!

Too bad they didn't keep that sort of originality up, and the third one is like a remake of the first, only really pathetic. Except a cool sex scene :D

I hardly ever watch movies, but I saw Madagascar and thought it was great!! Poorly developed story, but had some hillarious bits!!

See...I thought Nicholson's Joker was cool...until I thought about the character some more...and saw the Joker in other variations of Batman and realised...while a 50+ year old Joker played by Jack Nicholson is cool...I'd much rather see a slender, rather psychotic and manic Joker played by a younger actor...much rather.

Kinda like this guy who was in the short Batman - Dead End...

You da man. Highlander is one of my all time favourite movies and I was SO excited when I went to see the sequel. I actually won a competition in the paper for tickets, a goody bag and a copy of the soundtrack. I could have cried when I saw it - total dog shit. For me, Highlander starts and ends with that one movie, just as in my universe Star Wars is a trilogy of films numbered IV, V and VI.
