Music and your imagination

Morbid Angel, Liers in Wait and Mekong Delta make me see sunken civilisations or lovecraftian monsters...
same sort of feeling (though rather different in styles!):

fungoid stream "celaenus fragments"
thergothon "stream from the heavens"
tiamat "the astral sleep"

Tomhet evokes images of wintery fields and the deathof someone close, and that sort of numbness you feel, when you feel like you should be crying your ass of and instead you are just sort of meloncholy and empty.
interesting to hear a different take on the same track I was talking about! Thanks.

I know what you mean about that total feeling of emptiness, when you're beyond even crying. I think that's partially what I was getting at with my interpretation; a state beyond emotion.

The first riff in Towards the Shrouded Infinity by Demigod reminds me of the car chase scenes in Sin City for some reason.. don't even ask. I wish I wrote that riff.

When I listen to Pale Folklore by Agalloch, I feel like I am walking through woods aimlessly.

I listened to Infester - To the Depths.. In Degradation while jogging, and I felt like I was in a different world filled with evil and zombies. I was scared.

That movie was awful.

Any movie with blood and jessica alba showing skin is great in my book. I thought the movie was awsome.

Of course, I think that that applies to nearly everyone. Music´s role in human civilization is absolutely intertwined with other forms of art or feeling. Just try to imagine your favourite film free of its soundtrack. I tend to think in atmospheres, or moods, rather that linear thoughts, so I would definitely say that I associate the music I listen to with other realms of my life. When I listen to my favourite classical music, I find a close connection between it and my favourite art, poetry and architecture (late victorian, art nouveau). If I listen to a certain Porcupine Tree number, I remember driving through the mountains in the summer with the sun on my back. Tristania brings wandering through frozen woods in the dead of winter to mind.

... and so on.

What a surprise.

Death, blood, sin and half naked stripper sluts go hand and hand in a movie. It's called 'sin city'.... christians are suppose to stay away!

Oldish thread I know, but I have one more thing to add... this one riff off of ye entraceemperium ALWAYS conjures up images of deranged clowns dancing in some sort of diabolical ballet... don't ask me why though :D. Great song btw.

no more tears by ozzy and phantom of the opera
try it. if you are familiar with the plot it fits perfectly
example "your mother told you that your not suppoesed to talk to strangers
look in the in the mirrortell me do you think your life's in danger
no more tears"
there is a scene where the main female character is drawn through a "mirror" by the phantom into the phantoms lair
...
why did i go into detail like that?
