My view on "Powerslave"

Among the band's top 3 releases, for sure.
Aces - 10/10
11:58 - 8/10 (the mid-section saves this song)
Los'fer - 10/10 (awesome, melodic instrumental....vastly underrated)
Flash - 9/10 (that intro!)
Duellists - 8/10 (the harmonies in the middle of this song rule)
Village - 5/10 (among Maiden's lamest)
Powerslave - 10/10 (again, the solo/mid section are pure God)
Rime - 10/10 (as much of a DICK as harris is, he sure does write some great stuff!)

I'd rate the songs like this:
Aces High - 9/10
One of the best ever Maiden opening tracks, the song has real energy and heaviness and is a great taste of what's to come. I can't fault this track, it has everything and sets the scene for the best of the album.
Two Minutes To Midnight - 7/10
Nice catchy song, ideal for a Maiden single and the ideal song to introduce to people when introducing op fans to Maiden but it's lacking in trueness and just seems like a standard Metal song.
Losfer Words(Big Orra) - 9/10
The best Metal instrumental i've ever heard. The song is well structured, innovative, has quality musicianship and much more.
Flash Of The Blade - 9/10
Absolutely amazing, shows what Maiden were capable of, new ideas worked out perfectly in this fast energetic harmonic piece.
The Duellists - 5/10
The weakest song on the album which gets a bit annoying and boring is made better by some quality bass playing.
Back In The Village - 6/10
Above average Maiden song with nothing special, it still has something for everyone though.

The best Maiden song ever! The best Metal song ever! The best guitar solo ever!
This song is what Metal should sound like, Maiden at their heaviest with a thunderous bass line helping as well.
Rime Of The Ancient Mariner - 10/10
The best track over 10 minutes I have ever heard and the best songwriting ever. The song manages to stay interesting all the way through and shows off Maiden's use of dynamics. I could say loads about this song but I just don't have the time.
What makes this album so good is that as well as there being an array of the best Metal tunes, the album remains in the same style of sound and the same quality.
The best Metal album of all time without a doubt.

Powerslave is my favourite Maiden album and it's kinda difficult to rank the songs on it cuz they're all well written and played.

I don't know why, but I just don't like this album so much. I mean, it's a good album, but it's definately not my favorite Maiden one. I know most people don't like Back in the Village, but I like it.
