I had hell when I went around looking for a GAMMA RAY CD in nepal... new road was the place, and searching went on for DAYS!!! After returning to SUWAL in new road for second time, i found 1 Gamma Ray latest labum - No World Order. The place also had all sorta bands - Blind Guardian, Iced Earth, Rage, Royal Hunt etc... you should go check it out....i think it's the best shop to get metal.... and hey, where do ya get ur CD's from??
 
ACTUALLY, in my place,their are many power metal stuff we can get it.The latest,a band project come from the original line up of CHILDREN OF BODOM has release their material.also,we have a new album of gamma ray,raphsody,alas,blind guardian,heaven and many more.....(but only in tape format!!)oh yeah...also the helloween new album...they all bring a cover song from legendary pop and rock band like ABBA,SCORPION and many more....(i must get it soon before it dissapear!!)

Hey parimal..do u really consider Cobweb as a metal band?
I have heard their whole 5 albums and one song off their coming soon 6th album..but i really don't think they are metal... good old blues rock in the vain of CCR Deep Purple and sometimes real ripoff of acdc...
also heard some of Gamma Ray and Iced Earth songs... didn't find that heavy but good songs they got..now i know what is powermetal.
and man i am really hurt from DeadSoul... they are popstars now in HongKong...

no, i dont consider Cobweb as metal... but some songs like Preet ko Nasha, Na Maya Launu and some of the second album rock! Not that they're metal, but look on the bright side...! At least we got a quality band that maintain standards. THey don't call themselves metal, and THEY ARE RIGHT! But they can't be called POP or a USELESS band, and as a metalhead, i still don't mind their music. It's just as i listen ONLY to metal and oldies (like blues - CCR, Beatles etc).
So, to clear it up... cobweb AREN'T metal, but are very close to it (than any other bands)... not even Xmantra (just because they boast heavy music with useless vocals) can beat them. As a rock/blues group they rock. So, that's clear... and either i was misunderstood earlier, or i was simple too young then @ UM, or i dunna :d

also, i'd like to bring upon an *issue* here. many nepalis don't even posses the slightest idea about the heck metal is. ok, sure they have metal products like spoon and forks... but when it comes to music... they're a blank page torn out from a blank book. One even said to me Xmantra is a DEATH METAL!!! whoa... isn't that going too much. They judge the band as 'powermeal' just because they have fast drums and riffs. It's so stupid!!!
And hey deadmoth, is there a certain 'Tanta Band' or something?]

well no..x-mantra is not a deathmetal band... whoever said that must be out of his mind... but surely they do have some element of death... if you have listened to their album then you will figure out... they are at least trying to do it... esp with their lyrics..which is so different that the usual nabin bhattrai...even cobweb's lyrics or any other rock bands... so i am happy with what x-mantra came out...(we can't compare with western bands, can we)

Tantra...?? i don't know man... but i heard about Rakta Tantra...saw their first performance..laughed my ass and i guess this band is no more...
