Nevermore Cancel ProgPower USA VII Appearance

I wouldn't hold your breath over that one. Plus, there's a better band of the same style already playing...

Savage Circus is a clone (and I like it) but a clone of the mid-era BG, I'll love to see the Guardian nowdays. Anyway I know they will not show...

Alright then Masterplan or Jorn :D

That would be so stupid for Glenn, but really neat at the same time, not knowing who it'll be until they walk on stage...

There's no way it could be kept secret all the way up to the moment they walk on stage... people would see them flying in, walking around, coming in for soundchecks, etc.

Obviously that's true. I was just thinking out loud, agreeing with whoever said it first. Hell, even stuff like Therion gets leaked.

Or maybe, we could get all the band members to wear large black hooded robes during the whole time they're in Atlanta, and only take off the robes the moment they step on stage... :)

Heh... the Therion info probably got leaked because they were planning other dates in the US, and various promoters around the country with a distinct lack of professionalism let that info slip, and it got around. As opposed to Conception, for example, who were only playing ProgPower, and whose appearance was a complete surprise when Glenn announced it on website.

thats a shame, this did seem to be their big shot if you know what i mean...it was the right time for them to do something like this. sorry to hear it glenn, i know you must've worked hard to get them in.

but, maybe we'll see Dio after all? eh?

i dont want to make a "lets name 5845785726 bands and hope hell pick one"...but Dio would be a kick ass spot, plus i believe you said you had previously tried to get him this year? maybe their minds will change, yea?

Obviouely I can not tell who it would be, but would like to see a traditional powermetal band to headline. Somebody like Manowar wiht big sing along songs and a big athems.

Balls. This sucks. I was so looking forward to seeing nevermore for 2 hours plus. It would also have been my first time seeing them as well.

My suggestions
Manowar (how rocking would that be?)
or
Queensryche (oldmindcrime transition to the new mindcrime)

It sucks alot that Nevermore canceled, but I think there should be another band return with Evergrey;like Symphony X, Adagio, Spiral Architect or Brainstorm! Yall let me know what you think...:headbang: :headbang:

:OMG:
I think any band cancelling seriously sucks. Just think in the sheer logistics of putting a festival together. Now it's back to the drawing board. It sucks.

I was going to the show before Nevermore was announced, I was going after Nevermore was announced, I am still going after they cancelled and I will still go when Glenn finds a replacement, whomever it is.

:headbang:

This year has been the hardest year of the festival by far and the Nevermore issue only makes it worse.

Glenn H.

Care to qualify that statement, Glenn? From an outsider's perspective, it seemed like you really had your shit together this year and put together the roster with speed and precision...(almost like you knew what you were doing...haha!)...seriously...you made it look effortless to the masses this year...

Obviously, the cancellation sucks (and I'm a huge Nevermore fanboy who was totally stoked about seeing a headline set), and I can't imagine the tedium and expense that will be involved in replacing them.

That being said...what has made this year's logistics more difficult than the past?

Just curious...

Rock on!

Wow - sorry Glenn. I was really looking forward to seeing Nevermore play a headlining act. Also secretly hoping they would throw a Sanctuary tune or two into the set, and I was gonna wear my old Mirror Black t-shirt.

Someone mentioned this is the second time they've cancelled at Progpower. I don't remember the first one - when was that?

I have full confidence that Glenn will get a great replacement.

My 2 cents:
Masterplan
Borknagar
Dragonheart (not sure if they are headlining material)
Ensiferum (long shot, I know)
Elvenking!!!!

Ahh...yes...I, too, was thinking of breaking out the old Sanctuary shirt for that night...damn...
