"That's right! Opeth will start the recording of their 10th album on the 31st January 2011. The band has picked the legendary Atlantis studios (ex Metronome studios) in Stockholm and will once again work with Jens Bogren engineering. Mixing duties will be handled by Steven Wilson (Porcupine tree). Possible release worldwide in the fall of 2011, through Roadrunner Records."

OH MY GOD. SW + Jens Bogren. BEST ALBUM OF ALL TIME? I THINK SO.

idk about the best of all time.
But I imagine it will be good production wise. I just hope songwriting is better than on the last two albums.

Wilson mixing hmm? Can't say I'm happy to hear that but whatever... looking forward to this next release, hope it rocks.

I've never meet an Opeth album I didn't like. I'm must I am very excited to hear some new stuff.

I wouldn't say they were "crap", but compared to their previous albums, they definitely weren't up to par.

This is don't get... 9 albums. 9 ALBUMS!

Most of the people here won't write/contribute to half that in their life time with one band... I personally like everything from Blackwater Park on... the first 4 were not really to my liking... I personally think each record gets better.

Plus, its been 15+ years for them... as a fan, you either grow with the band or away from them.

Not sure why I even bothered typing this all out... whatever.

Still Life for me. Was the first one I heard. Looking forward to thr new one, live at RAH is great!

Yeah maybe ''crap'' was a bit excessive...but the last 2 songs on Watershed are definetely the 2 worst Opeth song, and yes, I'd definetly say they're crap...They sound really uninspired to me. I really like the first 3 songs, and tracks Burden and porcelain heart are correct...but they're far from the blackwater park and deliverance epicness.

I never liked Ghost reveries, except for Ghost of perdition which is one of my favourite Opeth songs. Hours of wealth and In isolation were great too, but I didn't like the rest of the album.

+1. I try and put no expectations on a band seeing that the bands are not psychic and really could probably care less what I think, so I've learned to just grow with them and listen.

I'm willing to bet that Jens ends up mixing it because SW won't put out a mix that suits the heavier stuff.

I can dream, can't I?

Honestly, Ghost Reveries, Watershed, and Blackwater Park are the 3 albums that come across live best from them, IMO, and I've seen them with every lineup they've had.

Yeah I agree with Wilson producing and Bogren mixing and engineering.

Ghost Reveries is my favorite Opeth album. If this collab ends up anywhere near what's been done by these two parties on Damnation and BWP it's going to be amazing. The only Opeth record I don't fully get into is Orchid.
