a: i do get pins and needles an awful lot when i drink. the worst combination is drinking and exercise - if i have a few too many and go to the gym the following day i totally lose feeling in the extremities after ten minutes of running. that's because alcohol hampers the aerobic process ie the absorption of oxygen by the muscles. so, if you want to stop with the pins and needles, just stop drinking.
