New Year's resolutions

The BMI is utter nonsense, ignore it.

You're wrong, but it does have limitations. It's mentioned right there on the website, but for athletes, lifters, or people who just have different proportions, it can be off. I use it as a general guideline, it's pretty good for finding a target weight if you're just trying to lose some pounds.

Don't matter who came up with it. Works within reason. The modern BMI was redeveloped sometime in the... uh I don't remember. 60s? Maybe 70s? Anyway, it's not some authoritative measure of your health, just a quick way of looking at someone's overall fitness.

maybe a little late..
I'm fine the way I am right now, I don't want/need any New Year's resolutions, never had and probably never will. With most things I don't like to think too far ahead of time, with some exceptions of course and if people want to call those things New Years resolutions it's fine with me. But nevertheless, I think it's nice to see that it always starts good conversations and makes a great thread on forums :)

whatever, here I go anyway;
- This year I'm hoping to get my B Sc degree in Applied Phyiscs, and start with a Masters programme, not sure yet which one exactly.
- Considering to buy my own car.
- Seeing Ulver live has been a long-time dream for me, and in February that dream will finally come true, so I guess that might as well count as a resolution :)

My resolution was actually to get a tattoo this year. And I did, just a few hours ago.
I got the Cosmic Genisis symbol (I totally forget what it is called, if it is called anything).
I got it on my upper left arm and at a pretty decent large size. When I get pics, I shall post them. Looks killer!

Looks nice! The red is not red color or ink, it is blood. It is still healing. Good work, I think.
I'm a Vintersorg fan for life now. *looks down and says "what did I get myself into?"* Hehe. Joking. I think it is totally worth it!

seen it on myspace!!!! wow!

i've tought to do a vintersorg tatoo some time ago, but never found the courage to do it.
i was thinking to do only the V (which is the initial letter of also my name) with the old logo behind....

@ Svarthjärtad: nice!! :headbang: i'd never get a band tattoo because it'll be with you forever, and i cannot tell what kind of music i'm going to listen to in say 20 years, so i guess that makes you a super trve fan! :D

@ lefay: in your case, it would be even much more than just a "V"! :) If you're ever gonna get that one, i'm going to call you Miss V :p

do we have a tattoo thread here somewhere? i love tattoos and i'm curious to see what kind of tattoos you all have! i would dig it up (or start it) myself but i don't have any tattoos to show off yet :p

that's why i don't want a band tatoo too...and i have no tatoos yet, 'cause i'm not sure about what i want painted on my skin....interests change in time! but anyway a tatoo is considered by a lot of people as a memory of something, so it will be probably nice for svarthjartard to look at his tatoo in 20 years and think back to the old days, even if may not like vintersorg anymore.

ahahaha
for the same reason up there ^ i tought to change a little bit the logo for not having the word vintersorg written on it.
i like the logo with the sun and clouds and earth, and i would find it nice even if it wasn't mrV's logo, and i like the gothic style V.so in 20 years i would have a nice tatoo, with my initial letter on it but i will know it's not just my initial letter, and has a story behind, that probably most of people will not understad, but i do...
i would say that this way the tatoo would be less binding that the entire vintersorg logo, more or less svart did the same thing, he did not tatoo the logo but symbol of the band....

Honestly, I've been into Vintersorg for a very long time. Still haven't got sick of him. HEhe. But there are another meaning to this!
You know, my great grandmother ment so very much to me, like a mother almost. And I remember when she died almost three years ago, that was the first thing I did, was turn on Vintersorg, because, I was worked up and the only thing that could really calm me down at the time. And my next tattoo, probably in a few days, is going to be the Bathory goathead. I've always loved Bathory, and to remember my great grandfather. I have always called him "Old Goat" - so you see, it ties in together. Even if some maraculous chance, I don't like the bands anymore, they still have great meaning!
