I can't imagine Nuclear blast wouldn't be behind Testament.There really are no bands more respected in metal.It must be pushed back.But why? because of the timing? I'll tell them when the time is.IT'S NOW.
The time of year has never ever mattered to me when buying albums.It just doesn't matter they can put it out now and still tour anywhere they want any time they want.They haven't stopped in 4 years!

The only logical explanation for the lack of news about the album, is that it's had it's release pushed back yet again. The last I heard, it was coming out in May, but I find that very unlikely now.

As for a music video, Chuck said in February that they were making a video for the album's lead single "Native Blood", but since then, I have heard no more news about it... I wish they'd just release it already!

Okay, it's finally confirmed! I've just finished watching a new interview with Alex, and he said the album is coming out in July...

I wish that actually confirmed it, but a previous interview with the band had said April 24, and we know that ain't happening. Hopefully, we'll start seeing more press to confirm this confirmation.

I don't recall an exact date ever being mentioned before. I did hear at one point that it was coming out "in April", but never a precise date...

If the album is coming out in July, the artwork and tracklisting should be revealed at the end of this month, or sometime next month.

Alex did hint in the interview that at least part of the reason the album was pushed back to July was to "fit in with the record companies' schedule". Which I don't understand. Testament are one of the biggest and most high profile bands on Nuclear Blast's roster. They should be seen as a priority!

I guess all we can hope for now, is that at least Native Blood is released very soon.

On the subject of blast beats, in the latest interview, Alex was asked to describe the tracks for which the song titles are already known. He mentioned that "True American Hate" has blast beats, but that was the only song he was asked about that he described as having such. From his track descriptions, it sounds like Dark Roots... is going to be a pretty diverse album with no single style dominating. Which for me, is a very good thing!

It is definitely 100% coming out in July according to Skolnick

Not only that, the album tracks are done. They're in the studio right now recording 2 cover songs as bonus tracks. Skolnick can't say what songs they are, but he said that one of the bands getting covered's members was on that Metal Show tonight......and that was Adrian Smith of Iron Maiden.

I thought those tracks were all ready done.Aren't they the ones that Chris from LOG play on?

I'm assuming they're just not going to use the Adler tracks, or they'll actually be an "official" part of the album now.

Skolnick just said another one of the bonus tracks is a remake of a classic title track.....so I'm going to guess PWYP or Souls of Black. Because those are the only two they could be.

I suggested a while ago that since Chuck wasn't able to record the vocals for Alone in The Dark or Reign Of Terror for First Strike that they re do them as bonus tracks.I hope it's Reign of Terror! I love that song!
Maybe Apocalyptic City? that would be cool too!
