NFL 2009

Miami sucks as mentioned.

The point is the Colts are much less likely of stealing games against a better experienced physical teams who may dominate / control the game and are also capable of closing it out unlike Miami. There are also teams like the Ravens who now seem to have a very good offense to go with the 'D'...this could pose problems for high powered offenses. Never thought I would be more afraid to face a Ravens offense (this week) than the Falcons offense (last week).

 The Ravens? My god, could that damn team be any more hyped up? The Colts are undefeated all-time against the Ravens (6-0). The last two times the Colts have played them they have been complete blowouts (31-3 last season, 44-20 in 2007). Their defense is so overrated this season it's not even funny. The allowed the Chiefs, the goddamn CHIEFS, to score 24 points on them.

The Patriots are going to kick the Ravens ass this week, you watch.

The way the Colts are going now with thier timing and big-playmaking on both sides...they may not have to worry about stopping the run and controlling TOP. The question is can they maintain it, more so the offense...do it when it will really count against good teams in the playoffs.

I would prefer the recipe as carried out in 06' as you even mentioned ironically.

Yeap, this is something we'll just have to wait and see. I have a good feeling about this season though.

Kolb played fairly well against us, even with all the INTs. It wasn't like Desean Jackson threw the TD pass to himself that completely burned our defense.

I'm not buying this Saints defense at all. Matthew Stafford, Kevin Kolb and Trent Edwards aren't exactly good qbs at this point in their careers. And they get another rookie qb this week. I just looked at their schedule and they play basically all shit qbs this season. That defense will have turned it around if they play good against Eli, Ryan, Brady and Romo. They won't be playing shit and inexperienced qbs in the playoffs.

Why is Brady even in this conversation? The Jets made him look stupid for fucks sake.

I guess what I'm saying is, MANNING IS BETTER THEREFORE HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN MENTIONED.

You're right about the Ravens. The defense is overrated this year. The secondary really fucking sucks. Philip Rivers torched them for 400 yards. Front seven is definitely solid though.

The offense improved a lot. Joe Flacco is throwing to 2nd/3rd rate WRs and still getting it done. Michael Oher needs to get his shit together, he's not that good in pass protection. Rest of the offensive line looks fine. RBs are good, as usual. McGahee has been a pleasant surprise.

Ask Miami how that worked out for them.

Fact is, to win and win big in the NFL you have to be able to pass the ball and stop the pass. Obviously you'd like every phase of your team to be good or at least above average but that's damn near impossible to achieve.

I like to look at a team using the Three-Fifths rule (which I cleverly created years ago). In order to qualify to be considered a good team you have to excel in 3 out of 5 areas.

The five areas being:
1. Passing offense
2. Rushing offense
3. Passing defense
4. Rushing defense
5. Special teams

=P

Dude, you guys have Peyton Manning. Really? No individual in the league carries a team more than he does.

^
Hope your correct in the over-hype of the Ravens and hope the Pats kickass as you mentioned...maybe this is the week thier O cranks it up?

You don't need to make an arguement cause there really isn't one. Especially in what Manning is doing right now.

Cook-ta is only talking about the real QBs and offenses that the Saints will eventually face...then see how they do? Sure the Jets D (wich is probably better than the Saints anyway) did well against Brady and had thier nice little moment. I'm sure the Pats offense will greatly improve and won't misfire and piss-away field position like it they did in the Jets game. The Pats O should and probably will be what it should be...wich is very potent. Thats what the Saints may well be facing down the road. Romo is the only one I wouldn't be too worried about.

Haha what? Don't even try to down play what the Jets did to the Patriots. Your offense got ass raped by that defense. It wasn't a 'nice little moment' it was a complete and utter lol'ing of that 'potent offense.'

I feel fucking vile and dirty rooting for the Patriots. I haven't had any positive feeling about the team in any capacity since Bill Parcells and Curtis Martin left the team.

Yeah, well the Ravens are a divisional opponent and the Steelers need all the help they can get this year it looks like. They just called up Isaac Redman from the practice squad because Parker isn't playing. For those who haven't heard of this guy, almost every Steeler fan on the internet has wet dreams about him. An undrafted rookie free agent from Bowie State who didn't make the active roster. And no other team picked him up, which is why he was able to make the practice squad. Some people are acting like he's going to be the next Jerome Bettis, it's ridiculous. Granted, he performed well in the preseason (mostly against second and third string defenses), and has the foreknowledge to fall forward for the extra yardage, which has been lacking for the Steelers this year. But he's a young, inexperienced guy with plenty of downside, not the least of which is endurance. Every time he made a big run in the preseason he was out of breath and looking to get off the field. I'm willing to see what this guy is capable of, though. For all the downsides, I do think he has a lot of potential, if not this year, then maybe next year if he's still around. BTW he earned the nickname Redzone Redman after scoring 7 or 9 times in goal line scrimmages in practice. Pretty amusing for a guy who hasn't seen a second in a regular season game.

Chill...there was a hint of sarcasm in my comments.

You saw that game...the Pats early on pissed away many opps starting with great field pos. The Jets D had more to do with shutting them down in the 2nd half, they were awesome. The Pats easily could have been up a couple scores early but missed easy wide-open plays. Woulda, coulda, shoulda...the Jets earned it. A division win at home early on...yes, a nice little win. It wasn't the fuckin SB like the blowhard R. Ryan played it up and how the fans reacted afterwards. Its over with... we move on.

The point was about what type of offense NO will face against NE...I think the Pats will be more in-synch by then...who knows?

I'm not really rooting for them, but I have money on that game and so far the Patriots aren't disappointing.

Holy mutha fuckin crap...KD is rooting for my Patsies! Ya know where to lay the money safely.

What was the line Pats -2? Ya must have been shitt'n ya self like I was at the end of the game...Ravens 4th and 5 from the Pats 10 or so yd. line, failed. The Pats D is somehow still carrying this team and making big plays.

sorry for the dp.
