NFL 2009

The Saints D is still the most overrated in the NFL imo. Sanchez made two afwul rookie mistakes that costs the Jets the game today.

I don't think anyone was really high on their defense to begin with.

Can't wait for the Pack game tomorrow. Hopefully someone drives Farve into the ground and separates hit shoulder. Or he throws a pick-6 to lose them the game. Or just plays terribly.

True on anyone not being high on the Saints D...though, any time your D can put points on the board..thats a good thing.

Nice finish to the Denver v Dallas game. To quote FB nite in America highlites..."Wade Philips-33 years coaching in the NFL...J. Mcdaniels 33yrs on the planet"...go figure. How is it one minute Romo can look like Joe fuckin Montana...then look like Joe-Blow!?! Like the guy from Ireland who was sent to protect Braveheart and killed one of his attackers, and said..."the other guy (thats Romo)... he wasn't right in the head"!

@ cook-ta. The giants are a very good team and will get thier props in your market either way. You should not worry & be happy... the Jets are a good team with a rookie QB and only have one loss. My little concern would be with that blowhard coach Ryan. I think he has brought alot to the table and very well may be good for ya...but he should shut the fuck up before he loses his team with his act. I saw his PC after the game and he made it clear to point out and criticize his rookie QB. The same QB who has shown good promise and led his team to a 3-1 record...why throw-out the negative and poo-poo him? Keep that shit in-house?

There isn't really a dominant conference this year.

And I think I was the one person who was hyping the Saints D. I thought they'd be decent, able to stop teams once or twice so we could outscore them.

I'm pleasantly surprised at defensive performances I've been seeing. While we might not be playing the best offenses yet, we've been scoring points, we did win two games that we would have had no chance at winning last year.

Brees not throwing a TD last year meant a loss, him only throwing one TD usually meant a TD, we won the last two games with defense and running the ball.

We're a completely different team, and Payton might have finally gotten over the "WE NEED TO PASS THE BALL ALL THE FUCKING TIME" mentality he's had since he came to NOLA.

I would like to see us face a more dominant offense though before I continue being so high on the defense like I am haha.

ok...I'll bite.

The NFC appears to be more powerful so far...but I most always think the AFC is more balanced and usually has the QB's to get it done. Who knows...its wide open so far.

This is gonna be a long year. I still say we beat Denver in two weeks.

I'll start I guess.

AFC:
1. Colts
2. Ravens
3. Broncos
4. Bengals
5. Jets
6. Patriots
7. Steelers
8. Jaguars
9. Chargers
10. Texans
11. Dolphins
12. Bills
13. Titans
14. Raiders
15. Chiefs
16. Browns

NFC:
1. Giants
2. Vikings
3. Saints
4. Bears
5. Falcons
6. 49ers
7. Eagles
8. Packers
9. Cowboys
10. Cardinals
11. Redskins
12. Lions
13. Seahawks
14. Panthers
15. Buccaneers
16. Rams

You have the Packers listed higher than the Bears, even though the Packers raped them in the opener? And you think the 49er's are better than Green Bay? Wtf?

And that Pats game was a joke. Whoever called the roughing the passer on Brady needs to be fired. You've got to be kidding me, there was hardly any contact at all.

You noobs, I meant rank the goddamn teams. I don't care about the separate divisions.

You said rank the conferences ya noob! Not the teams?
Just post SI 's power rankings and save us all a fookin head ache:lol:

I would probably drop the Bungles and the Jets and the 49rs and the falcons...not yet for them...just not yet!

Yeah, that looks about right but I'd place the Jets above the Bengals at least. Sure the Bengals won, and the Jets lost this week but the Bengals almost lost against the Browns whereas the Jets lost to the Saints.

Top 3 for the NFC is ridiculously close though. That is a definite "could go either way" situation and week 6 Saints vs. Giants has GOTY potential.

The guy unabided clearly took a nosedive at Brady's knees...if thats what you're talkin about? Thats the shit they need to call. That was more oblivious than the little swipe of the face to Flucko that was called hands to the face. I think they have gone overboard in protecting the QB's...let them play its fookin football!

The Pats beat the Ravens yet you still rank the Ravens no.2 and the other fraud teams ahead of the Pats ? You should know better?:) The 3 best in the AFC are the Colts , Pats and Jets...maybe?

WTF was with the Bolts tonite? If they only showed up at the start of the game they may have had a half of chance in winning. The only thing that separates the Raiders and the Chargers is a couple of skull and crossbones and 450 miles.

Three things that suck about NFL officiating now:

1. Way too sensitive with roughing the passer calls. They wear pads for a fucking reason. Even Trent Dilfer called bullshit on that Tom Brady call.

2. The standard for a completed catch has become totally asinine. If you don't get up with the ball inside of your ass hole, it's a dropped pass.

3. Unnecessary roughness calls on things that should just go down as good, clean, hard-hitting football. What this does is prevents deep backs from trying to make big plays to change the game, trying to break up passes with contact.

I'm thinking he was talking about Ngata's hit the the head of Brady that was clearly just his arm smacking the helmet. It wasn't like he was trying to clothesline him or anything.

Also muz seriously, Pats are not top 3 of the AFC.

Colts - Jets - Ravens

Just because a team had a better GAME doesn't mean they're a better TEAM.
