NFL 2009

Yeah, I am already marking up Dec 19th as a loss for the Cowboys but you never know. The Cowboys have taken out a couple of undefeated teams in recent years (the Colts a few years ago being one of them). The Cowboys have this frustrating habit of playing to their opponents abilities. Which means good games against good teams and bad games against bad teams

Packers have a tough schedule coming up. Ravens at home then Pittsburgh and Arizona. I think they can beat those teams, but it will be tough without Harris and Kampman.

And yeah, I think the Saints are the best team in the league by far. They will run a train on Minnesota and handle Indy pretty easily as well.

Thing about the Vikings is they've really not proven themselves yet. They just haven't played a really good team and won decisively. The Saints have dominated good teams.

That doesn't make any sense. The Cowboys are a better team than the Titans, and I am not just saying that because of their records.

...

It's not based on logic, it's just a feeling. Sort of an "any given Sunday" thing.

I think it's pretty safe to say that the Colts have been typically a better team than the Chargers, yet in recent history the Chargers have owned the series.

^ What?

Some people on this forum don't know shit about football.

all these dumb quotes.

My favorite being "the vikings haven't proved themselves" lol

"The Saints are 19-0 already" haha

It's like you people just started watching football 3 years ago.

Minnesota is a good team right now, but their fans don't know what's coming. During each season with Brett Favre there exists what I call the "Favre Arc". He will carry the team maybe into a playoff win, but when it really counts he'll gift rap a critical pick-6 or drop a 4 interception game. The Arc is still on the upswing, but it is right at the end point.

We'll see.

Yes we will.

The following is MO:

The most balanced team in the league is the Vikings AT THE MOMENT.

The Saints are more consistent than the Colts, not better. The Colts despite having a shit ton of new guys filling roster spots are more experienced than the Saints, and there is no subsititute for experience in this league.

That is all.

If you mean experience as in losing playoff games, then yea.

Saints have plenty experienced players.

I don't see anyone beating the Saints. The team that will have a chance (when it counts) is the Vikings with thier abilities to sack and disrupt the QB...even then no guarantee? If Brees isn't pressured and or sacked, then he and that offense basically have thier way.

The only other way to stop this type of offense is the way the Pats stopped the similar high-powered Rams offense in SB XXXVI. The Pats beat the snot out of Warner and his receivers coming off the bus, in a way that todays rules protecting and benefiting QB's and receivers don't allow. Players would be jailed playing the way the Pats D- did back then. But I sure loved it!
The Giants similarly did this, even within todays rules, to the Pats in thier SB...I just don't see a defense out there like that Giants D- that can repeat that type of performance?

The Colts can bring some QB pressure from the ends, are gutsy and have some experience but are clearly, like every other AFC team, or any team for that matter, a notch or two below the Saints. Colts are a team that more resembles what they should be...a team with maybe 3-losses?...not a dominant undefeated team like the Saints are. The Saints, in a statement game for both teams, destroyed the Pats. A Pats team that looked like the better team for much of the game against the Colts... despite the wacky loss.

Yea, but you can't really look at the Pats losing to the Colts and Saints as a definite answer to who the Colts or Saints are, as it is a game of match-ups.

Believe it or not I do think that IF ( < and that's a big IF ) the Giants make the playoffs they have a good chance at beating the Saints. If they are playing like I know they are capable of playing - being a D-end up DT zone pass rush on D ( none of this d-line man drop back junk ) and a core running game on O.
