NFL 2009

Except those 3 Super Bowls, of course.

Which he didn't ochestrate himself at all. Check out your Cowboys history d00d:

A few months later, he forced out longtime general manager Tex Schramm, and granted Johnson complete control over player personnel decisions.

Source.

Jerry Jones had little to no part in piecing the team together that won 3 Super Bowls in the 90s. He hasn't done jack since taking over as general manager after he fired Jimmy Johnson. Coincidence? I think not.

TBH the pre-Bill Parcells years were more of a result of over paying for those 3 Super Bowls years later than overtly bad personnel decisions. The Salary Cap was created when the Cowboys were on top, so they were hit the hardest, and there was no history to go off of to know how to work the system yet.

I'm sure that having a team full of hall of famers that got old after having late draft picks for several years had nothing to do with that. Maybe he can pull talent out of his ass next time.
It's stupid to say that we'll never win with him at the helm. Especially when we were so close 2 years ago. The talent on the team is just fine, and that's what he handles as GM.

So close two years ago? The Cowboys didn't even make it out of the divisional round. That's not close.

I don't think it's stupid to say that you'll never win anything. You haven't won anything in a long ass time and there's no sign of JJ changing his ways. To quote JJ himself, "You can't fire me." Roughly translated: I'LL DO WHATEVER THE FUCK I WANT LIKE WASTE 3 DRAFT PICKS ON AN UNPROVEN WR. WEEEEEEEE

There's no doubt that the Cowboys have some talented players, but the team chemistry is what is lacking, and is what's keeping the team from succeeding. Why might you ask? Because JJ doesn't care about chemistry, he thinks you can win on talent alone, and that is ridiculous.

New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced Wednesday evening that the club has agreed to terms with unrestricted free agent free safety Darren Sharper.

“We are pleased to announce the addition of Darren to our team,” said Loomis. “Darren is an accomplished veteran player that brings a wealth of knowledge and ability to our secondary and has always possessed outstanding instincts and playmaking skills.”

Sharper, 33, leads all active NFL players in interceptions with 54 and has been selected to four Pro Bowls during his 12-year NFL career. The veteran defender played eight seasons with the Green Bay Packers after being selected in the second round of the 1997 NFL Draft with the 60th overall selection. He moved to the Minnesota Vikings as an unrestricted free agent in 2005, where he has spent the past four seasons.

The 6-2, 210-pound product of William & Mary has played in 183 career regular season games, with 167 starts to his credit, and has racked up 992 tackles, 140 passes defensed, 54 interceptions, nine forced fumbles, seven sacks and seven fumble recoveries.

Sharper started all 16 regular season games for the NFC North Champion Vikings in 2008 as well as their playoff game, making 78 tackles with one interception, five passes defensed, a forced fumble and a pair of fumble recoveries.

Sharper has returned eight career interceptions returned for touchdowns during his career (tied for the fifth-most in NFL history), and he has also tacked on two fumble recoveries for scores.

In 10 career postseason games, Sharper has started seven of the contests and registered 50 career tackles, 10 passes defensed, two-and-a-half sacks, two interceptions and two forced fumbles. He played in Super Bowl XXXII as a rookie with the Packers.

What a nice pick up for us, he's getting older but still is one of the best.

i think the 09 season is going to require some serious research/luck to be successful in FF. Too many long time sure-bet players on the decline and the young stars haven't established consistancy to be depended on yet.

That's cool, cause it might help less experienced players like myself. I botched the draft last year, but was pretty active in researching each week and making some adjustments. I ended up getting into the playoffs.

You gonna join the MDF league this year, Dak? That is, assuming King (or someone) organizes it.

Planned on it. I always wind up getting screwed in drafts and have to rely on quick adjustments to make the playoffs (like getting Eddie Royal in Week 2), even winning a couple of years.

Not I says me. I know what my strategy is going to be this season. The only thing that is going to alter my decisions is the draft. I was fucked in the UM league last year. I won it the year before losing only 1 game, last year losing only 2 games and the championship game to Mort. It's on this year man, I'm going undefeated.

Haha, good luck. The championship run of mine was pretty nice.

I got robbed in the other league I was in, lost only twice the entire year only to go one and done in the playoffs.

Peyton to Wayne/Clark 4tw? :p

Peyton to Wayne/Clark 4tw? :p

not quite =P

Although I do expect Peyton to rebound very nicely this season. The o-line is going to be better, he'll have more time to focus on Gonzalez and Wayne more, it's just going to be a good year. Polian and Coach Caldwell have been saying since last season that Gonzalez has been further along in each stage of his first two seasons than Wayne was in his first two going into his third. That's a scary thought for the rest of the league. If they could just fix the o-line run blocking and get another stud running back, WATCH OUT!
