NFL 2010

I know you agree with him. You think everything you don't like in all walks of life is bad and evil. Players are just like everybody else. They go with what everybody else says. It's entirely based on reputation. Cheapshot artists my fucking ass.

I didn't say they were bad and evil lol. Just dirty. Of course your perspective would be different, considering you're a fan, so maybe take a second to see how biased you actually are.

As someone who isn't a fan of the Steelers (and I actually tend to like the team overall), I tend to believe that they're dirtier than other teams. Get all butthurt about it.

Steelers are as dirty as the next team. I'd actually say the Titans were the dirtiest team in the league. So, Dodens has a point there.

BUT after doing some research on who should be Defensive player of the year, I was wrong, it should be Cameron Wake! Polamalu won on reputation.

Wake's 14 sacks were only topped by two players. Clay Matthews, meanwhile, finished a half-sacks behind Wake. James Harrison had 10.5 while Julius Peppers had only 8. There was only one player (Chad Greenway) who had more tackles for loss in the entire league than Cameron Wake's 12. There wasn't a single player in the NFL to make more total tackles behind the line of scrimmage than Cameron Wake, who had 26. Compare that with Matthews (18), Harrison (18), and Peppers (14).Wake had more QB hits than Matthews in 2010 (27 to 25). And though I don't know how these figures might have changed between weeks 11 and 17, the fact is Wake was tied for first in the NFL with Brian Orakpo for most holding penalties drawn through the season's first ten weeks. Over that same time span, Wake was second in the NFL in quarterback hurries, trailing only Chris Long.

Just some facts, some thoughts, and some knowledge to the voting process rather than just letting a bunch of journalists vote based on reputation and false perception.

There's no way that accounts for the number of momentum changing moments that Polamalu had this year, which I'm not sure I can count on one hand. Sacks per se are overrated btw.

- In week one, keep in mind this is with Dennis Dixon at the wheel mind you, Matt Ryan has the ball late in the game, and the sense in the stadium, and really anybody watching the game following its momentum, simply senses the inevitability of the Falcons driving down the field to score at the end of regulation. Polamalu comes up with an athletic interception caused by his reading of Ryan's tendencies throughout the game and jumping his go-to route. Jeff Reed ends up missing the end-of-regulation field goal and the Steelers have to win on a 50 yard TD run by Mendenhall in OT, but nevertheless, that was most definitely a momentum changer.

- Week 2, following an opening drive kickoff return touchdown by Antonio Brown, the Steelers are able to do nothing at all on offense, while the Titans show promise to put together long drives. The first sign to the contrary is when Polamalu picks Young in the end zone in front of Kenny Britt I believe. The Titans aren't able to put together another attempt at anything like a "drive" again until late in the 4th quarter with the game already out of reach, and still nevertheless Polamalu decides to time the snap and tackle Kerry Collins at the very same instant he receives the ball by jumping over the line as the ball is snapped. Didn't really change anything, but still cool as shit.

- Week 12 in Buffalo, again late in regulation, Fitzpatrick is leading the Bills on a scoring drive in a tie game until Polamalu makes a diving interception within the 5 yard line, effectively forcing the game into overtime, which the Steelers later win.

- Week 13...well fuck. Ravens lead late in the 4th quarter. Polamalu comes off the (defensive) right edge, stunting with Harrison, for a strip sack on 2nd and 5. Woodley recovers and 3 plays later Isaac Redman scores the winning touchdown.

- Week 14, Polamalu picks off Carson Palmer to score the Steelers' first points of the day after trailing by a touchdown on a day in which the offense couldn't muster anything more than fiel goals. Of course he adds a bonus pick in the end zone near the end of the game.

lolol. And its looking pretttttty good for the Pack so far, aside from the fact that Steelers have been moving the ball pretty well, and three very important players went to the locker room early, four counting Driver. If they don't come back it's gonna come down to whoever has the ball last.

God I do NOT want to see Bush on that field defensively. He is SO bad. Don't let that interception fool you, the guy is straight up garbage.

Woodson and Collins at the very least need to be out there, Shields it'd be great to have back out there too.

On a positive note I did win $250 dollars.

Yeah the injuries in the packs backfield could change everything if they don't return.

Those injuries don't look too serious, except for Charles Woodson. Although that doesn't look as serious, probably just tightness in his elbow or something.

Should be a good finish

ROETHLISBERGER IS A BITCH!

Pittsburgh was unable to win SB #7 with Rapistburger at QB, who wears #7.
Green Bay won SB #4 without Favre at QB, who wore #4. Coincidence?

Rodgers wears #12, which is 3x4, which are the number of SBs Green Bay had at the beginning and end of the night, respectivily.
4 has four letters, making it a perfect number.
Seven has 5, which is not.
Steelers has 8 letters, not seven.
Pack has four letters.
etc.

What did I say about Polamalu being a liability in pass coverage?

Either way, it was a great game imo. The Steelers looked like they were going to make another glorious comeback but the Packers defense stiffened up and closed them out.

I'm glad this season is finally over. Now all the exciting shit begins!

21 points off of turnovers. Play the game 10 times and the Steelers come out above .500. Other than that I have no comment about the game, with the exception of a congratulations to Dom Capers, Kevin Greene, and Darren Perry, who were all part of a Steelers team that deserved a ring in the mid-90s.
