NFL 2012

You plain and simple don't know the rules if you think that wasn't roughing the passer. He had control of the arm that hit Roethlisberger in the head, regardless of whether or not he was held. And a hold would not negate a personal foul anyway. Krig is right that he'll probably be fined.

The Steelers were playing with two undrafted rookies in the secondary, including one that is a safety, at cornerback, so I don't know how much I can really complain. It's unfortunate that Roethlisberger got picked by Carr at the end, but the reality is that this is not the game that matters for the Steelers. It's next week that matters.

Both the Giants and Steelers control their playoff destiny. If they win their last two games, they're guaranteed a wildcard, and both can still win their divisions with help.

Well the newer rules protecting the passers are about bullshit anyway so I wouldn't be surprised if there's a fine coming. Shits arbitrarily enforced anyway, when Dez gets a helmet to helmet hit going out of bounds and the hitter doesn't get fined (from last week)but a Dallas player gets fined for a lesser offense. Fine-able hits are shit.

If you watch the play, the linebacker had that arm out and fully extended up waaaay before he ever got there, and the arm never changes position. It's not like he got there with arms down and then punched Choklsberger in the head. Like Simms said about the Steeler fumble that got reversed early, you have to watch it in real time to make the determination, not in slowmo. In real time, there was no time to pull the arm down. In fact, if he pulls the arm down, it would look like a tomahawk on Chokls neck.

Not totally surprised. 9ers are damn good, they made more key plays. Was surprised in how wacky the game played out. Pats could not have played a worse first half of football...very uncharacteristic. Brady and Co did show some nuts and had an amazing second half comeback to tie the game. Not easy to do against that 9er D-.Only to see it vanish two plays later with a 9ers long kick return and aTD pass...wtf!?!

49ers stopped playing aggressively and it showed in the second half.

Ahh no not really. SF basically plays D- only one way- aggressive! Why would they or any team stop...you should always be aggressive as they were the whole game. Its not like they went into a prevent defense. What happened was the Pats decided to play some legit football in the second half. It got scary for SF for a reason...Pats have a pretty good offense if you havnt noticed lol. SF hung on barely...they made a few more key plays in the end.

They changed from their man coverage which was destroying anything the Patriots tried to do and went into zone coverage for much of the second half

The Patriots have a good offense and likely would've done more than they did in the second half, even if the 49ers didn't make that change, but it was definitely a reason why it ended up with them coming so close to a full come back

SF maybe shouldnt have changed up what they were doing. Yet they still were flying around on D and not playing a prevent atleast it seemed. Pats did manage a full comeback, they tied the game. Thier special teams and secondary let them down, wich sucks cause thier special teams are usually top tier and the secondary seemed to be getting thier act together as of late.
