whats post rock?

Bands that fall under post rock- Explosions in the Sky, Mono, Red Sparrowes, Russian Circles, etc.

What is Post-Rock?- Basically a more atmospheric, ambient approach to rock music. Long songs that have minutes of build up.

If post-rock is too light for you I'd recommend listening to some post-metal. Bands like Pelican, Isis, Envy, are all great examples.
