Well... I decided to make an off-topic thread to keep other threads from being spammed. I'm probably the worst spammer. Haha!

Anyways... I started drawing recently and here are some of my drawings I'm no pro. Criticism is welcome. Here ya go:

And if you like these check out the rest in the photo album @ http://picasaweb.google.com/108645469622320282205/RandomArt#

3 things...
-It's kinda funny you making an off-topic thread :D no hard feelings though..
-Write in the topic instead of "Off-topic" add some info whats the topic about
-This is all abstract, and since I'm not a fan of abstract I'll keep my mouth shut :D

3 things:

-Yes it is funny. I said that I was the worst spammer in the beginning of the post.
-There is no topic. We can converse in here and stuff. That's what was on my mind at the moment
-I'm not that great at other art. Abstract is easier for me. I do have some normal art also though but they royally suck. haha!
Here are two:

Man I always get so inspire when you post these arts lol. I cannot explain it, I think it is because I have such a competitive that I always think I have to do it better I have to do it better lol! Yours are good and it give me such a great idea it is almost like I black out and lost in a worldwind of creative lol. It was this one:

The%20Room%20of%20An%20Artist.JPG

where you said this about it:

A drawing of someone drawing (me)

and it gave me such an idea that less than six hours later I have this finish product:

Like your idea, it is a drawing of someone drawing you lol. It is me drawing you drawing my uncle (lol) drawing me again it reminds me like when you see on a tv there is a man who watches a tv and on that tv there is another man who waches a tv and on his tv he watches another man who is watching a tv. Or maybe there is a man who looks at a painting and in that painting he look at a man who is look at a painting and that painting has another man who looks at his own painting and that man...do you follow what I mean here????????? I think it is a neat idea no? But maybe that is not so supernatural and I think a supernatural is important for a drawing to add some edge and excitement, so that is why I included the flying hooligans who symbolize trying to kill my inspire to draw art. Or maybe kill your inspire, or my uncle's inspire. Lol. Anyway I hope you can follow along and enjoy it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! o_O

Wow awesome drawings! I draw to.. but my scanner doesn't the essence of my drawings

But I do computer art :)

@Craig: if the scanner is not doing the drawings justice... Download Picasa... to edit the lighting. After scanning... hold up the drawing next to the screen and tune till it looks more like the shading in the drawing. The scanner makes the shading dimmer for some reason.

@OkThankYou: That's great! :D Yeah the thing with the tv is called video feedback and it is awesome. :D I always hook up my camera to my tv and point it at it... it does video feedback.

I hope I'm not penalized for bumping an old topic, but I just wanted to say I'm new to these boards and I thought the first place I'd post would be in Theocracy's forum. Since that's off-topic, I made my post here.

While Theocracy isn't my favorite band (Dream Theater or Kansas probably is), their music and lyrical depth amazes me. I was very happy to discover this band, since, outside of Neal Morse's material, I have been somewhat dissatisfied with Christian music at large.

Looks like there are some talented members here as well--those drawings are fantastic. :)

Welcome to the Theocracy boards... and since this thread is back up and running here is some stuff I've been doing:

Some new stuff I wrote (Suggestions and criticism are more than welcome):

-[Fall of The Tyrant]-

A storm is raging over the night
The beasts are calling
Collision of the dark and light
Lightning strikes, the tyrant's falling

Tragedy
The serpent will deceive
But victory
For all who believe

No fear in the end of time
For blood was shed for me
One was punished for my crime
To give me all eternity

As the empire falls
And steel collides
We hear the calls
Of the beast who hides

Sound the mighty drum
The darkness falls tonight
The break of day has come
And we can see the blinding light

Restless cries of the fallen one
The light reveals your pain
You can see the rising sun
You can see there is no gain

The tyrant of the night
The serpent king below
God's victory will come with the rays of light
This is the truth the chosen know

No fear in the end of time
For blood was shed for me
One was punished for my crime
To give me all eternity

A storm is raging over the night
The beasts are calling
Collision of the dark and light
Lightning strikes, the tyrant's falling

-[Nightmares Unforgotten]-

Beyond the light
In lands unknown
There stands a knight
Before a throne

Beyond the seas
Of false desire
It's our disease
Our eyes of fire

Whitewashed tombs in the highest of places
The scattered warriors cry
Another skull in a sea of faces
The shattered pieces fly

Evil hordes
Unite as one
On towards
The burning sun

Behind the walls
Of what we've swept aside
Every time our kingdom falls
We feel the shame growing inside

Ignoring what we've done
We fall without a sacrifice
We fight and fight, we see no sun
A road so far from paradise

Take away
My unforgotten dreams
Show the way
Impossible it seems

You will lift us higher
Far beyond the night so cold
Far beyond the fire
Above this land of times of old

In the dead of the night
In the land without the sun
We no longer fight
For it's been done

Take away
My unforgotten dreams
Show the way
Impossible it seems

@ryan M. : Great lyrics ! Fall of The Tyrant is my favourite (WE HAVE VICTORY !!).
If there were a music with these lyrics, I think it would be EPIC ! :D
Keep up the good work ;)

Edit : I have some funny things to show...

This is a program I made in which you can call a plug-in, in which you can draw "maths" images by typing Ruby code in the Scintilla text field.

As I'm French, I made the program in French (but the code is still in English, as the words are shorter, only comments in the code are in French).

This is the same thing with a 3D-like effect :

This is a file generated with the program :

And another :

Programming is funny (and it is better when you listen to Theocracy, this is one of the two or three metal bands that make me be happy, and gives me energy :headbang:!!)

Great stuff Ryan, and I agree with Child Of God - Fall Of The Tyrant is my favourite too.

Here's one of mine...............

THE DRAGONS RAGE

The cry of the religious
And the wailing of despair
That beckons in the setting sun
Their gods cannot repair.
For through this great antiquity
When time is on the run,
The call to all is heard so clear,
That life to death is done.

But cold and bleak communion
Of souls without a cause
Fear all the things they choose to fear
Internally it draws
Upon the rising doubt of men
In this, a darkened age
Where few will do the selfless act
Against the dragons rage.

CHORUS
We hear you.
We fear you.
We don’t want to get near you
But whilst we stand alone and silent
You come prowling down.
We’re quaking.
We’re shaking.
We know our souls are breaking.
But here we see your seven heads,
Your teeth, your gleaming crown.
And you come prowling down.

And yet a door is open
In this time without a dawn.
The dragon, he may prowl the earth
And see the demons spawn.
Behold this darkest hour when
mans good is all but shed
And screaming to the far flung poles
The light and sun has fled.

Solo

Though even in this gripping waste
Where shadows fuel the fear
A glow will show the essence truth
When light will reappear.

CHORUS
We hear you.
We fear you.
We don’t want to get near you
But whilst we stand alone and silent
You come prowling down.
We’re quaking.
We’re shaking.
We know our souls are breaking.
But here we see your seven heads,
Your teeth, your gleaming crown.
And you come prowling down.

Fundy

That is really good Fundy!

Here is another one of mine:

-[The Savior In This Nightmare]-

Falling down like shattered glass
Waiting in the shade of night
Waiting for this time to pass
Watching as they fall and fight

Warriors fall
And swords collide
Standing tall
In the sky they ride

As steel meets steel
And the sky ignites
The death I feel
On these endless nights

Bodies slain
Upon the bloodstained shore
It once gave me pain
But now I cry no more

So much sorrow
Before my eyes
I must reach tomorrow
A reach beyond the world of lies

The night reflects
Within my tear stained-eyes
My mind the earth infects
Broken down by lies

You ask me how it's done
On this day without the sun
It's the light within my soul
The savior in this nightmare, dull

He who gives me life
And washes sin away
He who overpowers knife
And secures for me, a brighter day

How can this be?
What's come of me?
Why can't you see?
LORD SET ME FREE!

You ask me how it's done
On this day without the sun
It's the light within my soul
The savior in this nightmare, dull

Fundy, the lines:
"We hear you.
We fear you.
We don’t want to get near you "

I really like. Well done

In other news, who else agrees the best place on Earth for metal is Northern Europe (Particularly Finland/The Netherlands)?
Epic
Nightwish
Within Temptation
HB

etc.

I agree :)

Some of my favourite bands are from Finland : HB, Sacrecy, Norman (but I still can't buy their album, I don't find it, I must listen the samples from them website :( ).

I think all Europe (not only Northern Europe) is a good place to find great melodic or power metal (Seventh Avenue (germany), Sinbreed (germany), Harmony (sweden), Divinefire (finland or sweden), Innerwish (grece), Majestic Vanguard (sweden), Symphonity (germany i think)...).
At the beginning, I thought Theocracy was an European band (from Georgia in Europe), it sounded very European !

I think America is better to find (traditionnal) Heavy Metal, or Metalcore (I don't like Metalcore).
I think the only American band a like a lot is Theocracy.

PS : all the band I mentionned above are Christians bands.

Very true. I really like Epica. And the funny thing is that I learnt about them from the PP-USA trailer posted in this forum, not on some local podium. :) Although they are pretty anti-religious, I can respect how they can see the difference between the believer and the religion. I don't like their newest album though. I don't like the new style and I haven't even listened to it enough to understand what the songs are about.
