Official Deadwing Appreciation Thread

Funny thing is, PoS is lyrically really too complex for dem opeth brutal metal fans.

"I am the unclean
The black drop at the bottom of your cup
You'd better drink or throw me up
'Cause I am on your lip and tongue
God
I'm not yours as much as you are mine
So let me in to be your lung
Just breathe me deep and take another sip
So still
A taste so sweet but so bitter the kill
Still on your lip
You are so close
I'll let you come
Between my legs you are closer death than sun
And I'm not your daughter as much as you're my son
I'll let you come
In my mouth on your lip
So ready and thirsty for the next sip
You let me in, I let you come
I'd never let you down
You let me win, I let you drown!
Getting used to pain"

Ahahha oh wow, i must not understand any of that...especially the bit where he rhymes 'sun' and 'son'...lyrical genius!

ps. Oh lyric understanding genius, you spelt 'damn' wrong. *smiles sweetly*

Both PoS and PT rule.
Well, PT rules a bit more than PoS.

So, to all PoS haters: Just shut the hell up or start a PoS- flaming thread. This one's about appreciating a great record.

*appreciates Deadwing*

Deadwing seems to be a great record. Just got it yesterday. The Ålmighty's contributions are excellent... I am looking forward to the DVD-A version to hear him belt out some death screams..

 Which song does Mikael sing on for the DVD-A version?

Yeah, when anyone gets hold of the version of Deadwing with those bonus tracks, get em online..I want to hear growls, by Mikey none the less, on a PT song.

: On the new album I did a solo on "Arriving somewhere but not here" + backing vocals on the same track, "Deadwing", "Lazarus" and some more from the album, I can't remember. I also did vocals for a remake of "Shesmovedon" as well as a super B-side that I even did some death screams on that was called "Mother and child divided" or something like that.Mike

I liked Deadwing more on second listen than on the first. Still doesn't threaten In Absentia for my favorite PT album. I appreciate it though.

And Remedy Lane is a good album, even though I don't like Gildenlow's vocals. Can't say about any other PoS.

I downloaded Deadwing and I must say it is quite good. Got to learn the songs for the upcoming show!

I wish they would add So Called Friend to the bonus material. It's a great song.
