One thing I can't really do on a mac

Waiting for the shit storm and pawnage.

:rolleyes:Why would there be a shitstorm or any pwnage? Yeah I shouldn't have said macs are overpriced social pieces since I know Mac people can't handle hearing it. So yes dick move on my part, but I haven't spoken a word in here that isn't true. That being said, I don't see what anyone could say to pwn or what said shitstorm would be about. Let's keep butthurtedness to a minimum. Thanks.

yes the FUCK you have... i buy one new mac every 6 years or more ... that MORE than makes up for the price difference.. they just don't break or become unusable-y [sic] obsolete nearly as quickly in my epxerience... and what the hell's with the "social piece" comment??? sounds exactly like someone who knows fuck all about macs except the marketing efforts... Get BENT with your "i've said nothing that's not true" horseshit.

your comments are in NO WAY objective fact.. what they are is your HIGHLY SUBJECTIVE personal interpretations based on lack of experience with the platform and and a personal distaste for a particular set of advertisements... and apparently a total ignorance of what macs are actually capable of, based on your decision that the interface... you know, the one windows copied and his based upon... is somehow "weak" simply because it's "simple" to use. piss off with your "i've only said things that are true" bollocks... yeah i said it twice in consecutive paragraphs... get over yourself with your ingorant mac criticisms. do take note though, that i didn't say shit about Windows.. only that it's Apples and Oranges... you are the one making a specific claim of one OS being somehow shitty, just because you don't get it.

yep, went back and re-read all my posts.

first two i was calling for a halt on where the thread seemed to be going... third one i answered Kaomao's questions for him and gave him some flack for not just using Google before declaring that something "can't be done", next few i agreed with some other posters... then had had a laugh back and forth with Shreddy and Joe, then you popped up and started going for the rise... that about sums it up.

spoken like someone who's never really used one beyond fucking about for a minute at a time.

and crushingly shown every person with a "head-up-the-ass-of-windows" attitude like yours to be totally wrong.. over and over again...

no one on here cares if you are mac-tarded, ok?? keep it to yourself,

you are far too new to get away with "just joking around"

Were these the parts where you were calling for a halt, answering questions, or...?

Lack of experience? I am a licensed certified tech for all kinds of machines and platforms including Apple/Mac. I'd say I am more than qualified to speak on the topic. I have no issue with their advertisements. I think they are doing a great job. I have no issue with the interface. I have no issues with Macs overall. They are overpriced. It's not debatable. At this point they are using pretty much the same parts as an off the shelf PC. They are capable of no more and no less than any PC. Performance will be based on the specs of a particular machine, not the brand. At this point people should talk about which they prefer as which one is "better" does not exist. Again I haven't said anything that wasn't true. Maybe I've said some things you don't agree with but that's your issue not mine. And as I've said before let's try to keep the butthurt to a minimum. :headbang:

That wasn't really an invitation for you to act less partisan by agreeing with me

And you're not going to win here, the best you can hope for with James is usually a draw, I mean, by all means try, but its a stupid fucking argument anyway :Smug:

I have 6 macs and 4 pc's. I'm not upset in any way. Only reason I said what I said is because you're being rude and assuming that all people who use macs are "fanbois" and I said it in jest at that.

How about we all shut the fuck up about macs and PC's and make some goddamn music? Jesus Christ.

well i don't have certifications in anything to do with any type of computer repair... but i learn what i need to learn to maintain my computers... and throughout my life i've had far more problems with PCs than with Macs, and had to buy far fewer macs in a given period of time than PCs to replace old, broken down computers. i will pay $2K for a mac laptop that will last me 6 years well before i'll pay $800 for a similarly specced PC that will last me 2... i save $400 in that equation, thus making your "they are overpriced. that's not debatable" comment quite debatable indeed. and that's irrespective of the experience of using the two during the time i own them. i used PCs before i got my first mac, and have had a pC alongside my macs for years... buying a new PC soon, but i'll not use one as my workstation. my choice, based on my experience... of 15 years of owning both platforms. the macs just give me far less grief.

and every single person on this forum that's ever changed over will agree with me on that. if there's any that don't, they haven't been switched over long enough.

anyway, now i've finally talked some shit about PCs.. happy?

...Only reason I said what I said is because you're being rude and assuming that all people who use macs are "fanbois"...
and THIS ^. it's been my main prob with your posts on this thread Mesa.... and the fact you don't seem to get that is mind boggling. talk about "elitist".

Who's trying to win? I'm just tellin it how it is. It's up to anyone reading what they take from it. True it is a stupid argument. People are welcome to blow their money on whatever they want. :)

I prefer to think I was just returning the favor. Sorry to anyone that got caught in my sweeping generalization!

I'm just tellin it how it is.)
see? that's the part of your attitude that is turning not just me off... you're the one that "knows how it is"... and you're "tellin' it".

no, you're not... you're making your own subjective interpretations and typing them in a forum... period. they don't necessarily apply to anyone else.

until you get that, you'll just be a troll, no matter how many "certifications" you have.

The truth man is you've just been lucky. I can understand where you're coming from though based on your experiences. The truth is I've had to repair just as many apple machines as PCs but the Apples are always a lot more expensive to fix and have a lot higher turnaround time. You couldn't buy an off the shelf power supply or motherboard etc for an apple. You had to get THIS power supply that costs $150 and isn't anything to write home about etc. That's after waiting weeks/months for it to come in from Apple. So in your case, again, I could see why you would think they were superior. If you happened to be one of the people that needed a repair and had to pay half the amount you paid for the computer new, 3 years after the fact after waiting 2 months you might not have the same outlook.

I understand you didn't like the fanboi comment but I'm sure others didn't appreciate your "head up the ass of windows" comment either, and frankly I don't see how you keep arguing against me for any of this when you did the same thing, but worse, first. :Smug:

On that note, I've been lucky as well. So far, no problem.

Oh except the one hard drive that failed on me. It was one of the 4 I had in that machine, thankfully not my system drive. I've been really lucky.

For me it's the OS that I love the most.

Well I apologize for the put off, but this is what I do for a living. I have been neck deep in everyone else's computer problems for years. From home PC users to global machines. You've had experience with your couple of computers and the problems they've had. I've had experience with thousands of others. If the fact that I can base my comments on that experience turns you off, then so be it.

you did the same thing, but worse, first. :Smug:

no.. i didn't.. you apparently read quite selectively.. and have little to no ability to discern the difference between me stating opinions and yourslf stating "facts"... very self-serviing attitude.

but yeah. i guess i've just been lucky... nevermind that in my circle of peers they must have all been just as "lucky" as me... chatted with Sneap on cam-chat yesterday... we both commented on how we're both still using the same laptops from over 4 years ago when i was at his place helping him out during the Nevermore TGE, and The Clan Destined album sesssions, and how neither of us feel any need to upgrade as our machines are still kicking ass and doing the job, even with the latest software updates... the mac lappys are still handling it fine. yeah.. he's just lucky too. him, me, and every working engineer i know... or at least the 90% of them that use Mac.

i don't doubt you've had loads of mac repairs.. but just as many??? i call absolute and total BULLSHIT on that. not unless you worked at a place that an apple store referred a lot of out-of-warranty repair business to. the tiny market-share of Apple compared to windows-based PCs would make that an impossibility even if macs were the worst POS ever manufactured.
