Opeth Fans Have Spoken

These are the results of my huge poll from the first days of the forum.

The concensus of Opeth fans say:

-The Best Album- MORNINGRISE

-The Best Song- TO BID YOU FAREWELL

-The Best Cover- MORNINGRISE

Of course everyone knows the best member is MIKAEL

The jury is still out on Best Lyrics

That is so harsh! They work as a band, how can u say one is better than another? u can of course but do u think its fair 2 say that?

It is very unfair from us to judge Opeth's work in such a way. By picking individual accomplishments and calling them "the best" we undermine everything else that Opeth has done, and none of us are qualified to do that.

...This is fine, I don't deny anyone their opinion. I've seen this before, plenty of times. What I don't agree with though, is this phenomenon of "blind loyalty". It certainly doesn't guarantee anyone the title of "#1 hardcore fan". As a matter of fact, from my experience, the people who live for the music they love are the ones the rest of the world hear from the least.

Don't get me wrong, I think To Bid You Farewell is great, but I would never dare say that it is Opeth's greatest composition.
