Tha Nethalandz!
Everything in music is inferior to Opeth these days. And I really mean that. Everything else just doesn't do it for me. The emotion, the melodies, the guitars, the vocals, the drums, the bass, everything fits. Usually when I hear some other band, most of the time I hate the vocals, or I don't like the guitar sound, or some songs on an that album suck. With Opeth I don't have that!
I bought Crimson 1 a few weeks ago because I heard so much about it, but I don't think it's better than anything Opeth has ever made. It's just another good album, nothing special.
Is everybody that insane like me??

Oh dude, always these comments like "deliverance is shit", "just the 3 first albums are great" and so on. That's weird. I think Opeth changed, but not that much, that you can say they lost their emotions. I like Opeth, I like very much Orchid, but i do also like Deliverance more then Morningsrise! Ok, it might by your personal subjectiv opinion, but do not generalise (is this word existing? :ill:).

Benighted ... no emotions?

And especially Face of Melinda? No emotions? I can see Mikael crying, when he sings "the face of melinda neath blackened hair ...".

Well im glad that the Opeth superiority complex died down over time... I think the death of it was brought on with Deliverance and Damnation, which aren't quite as different and spectacular as their older releases... so im glad some good came of that.

A Fair Judgement definately has the emotion happening... watch Opeth play it on the Inferno Festival 2003 video... I mean Mike gets into playing the lead so much that he manages to ruin it ... there's definately alot of feel in the song, the lead parts definately being the major aspect of it.

Opeth still have the emotion in their music... it's just expressed differently. There's no more entwining dual melodies as such, but they are able to bring about the feeling in the music in a different way.

To me , Agalloch's The Mantle is superior to most of Opeth releases , if not all
