im with you absentfreind, im getting sick of little bitches moaning about whos better, its a matter of fucking opinion. If we all liked the same thing and did the same thing, sooner or later we'd all be sitting around on our asses masturbating over the moon, for christs sake (im sure after exausting all other options this would eventually happen). People waste so much fucking time and effort on this forum trying to make themselves heard that its just turned into a whole puddle of 'shut the fuck up'. Why are all these people on this forum then? Just to talk about some other fucking crappy band, or their own crappy band? Why? I thought because everyone over here loves Opeth...

From what I understand (and I could be wrong), a fanboy is basically a criticless fan. Someone who agrees with the band on anything they choose to release or praise every album/song with absolutely no hint of criticism whatsoever.

But I also think a fanboy can be someone who, no matter what, always feels said band can do no wrong, and will stand by the band even if the band releases a CD of copulating donkeys. In other words, this fan becomes a fan of the band members instead of what counts, the band's music. For example, the individuals who create threads about Mikael's mustache, or the band members' personal lives, etc...

Or a fanboy could probably be just some loser who feels the need to collect any band material without questioning whether he really needs or ultimately wants it, i.e. stickers, shirts, hoodies, etc...

Here, I'll list a few bands. Of course, I enjoy a lot of genres of extreme music that most "pure" metalheads do not, so chances are, you will not enjoy these bands. Also, I enjoy numerous bands more than Opeth, but I acknowledge Opeth are talented musicians, so I'll stick with bands that I feel write better music, lyrics,etc instead of just listing my entire collection. Hope you enjoy:
