I was reading Dark One's review of Morningrise again (great, great review by the way) and I went to those specific segments he picked out as his favourites. Anyway, I found myself listening to the whole of Morningrise again, and it really is a glorious album. Probably one of the best albums of the 90's.
The thing about Opeth is that there is so much to absorb from each album that you tend to forget how classy the material really is. In other words, it's a lot harder to dismiss the band when you actually have the music playing in the background. Or at least, that's the case for me.
As it stands, Morningrise just became my favourite Opeth album (again).
