They are not metalcore...some people THINK they are Death Metal too, but they are not.

meh as far as lamb of god goes... they get a lot of hype for their live show and personally i havent been able to get into it much any time ive seen them. As for the band in general, I really don't hear the metalcore in them that everyone labels them as. They don't do the chugga chugga breakdowns constantly, they don't have the tough guy style singing, they really don't have much in the way of hardcore in their sound. In fact the one thing that really does turn me on to them at all is that they really kinda are doing their own thing, and not many other bands in America are. In other words, they offer a sound no other band i can think of really does, and are pretty solid players for the most part.
Basically, i think they are both overhyped and overbashed. They are a pretty good metal band.
