Opeth to support Lamb of God on select Gigantour off-dates.

Watch both of there DVD's and then judge them. They are really down to Earth guys that are making their own music for the right reasons... because they want to. And about the lead singing... Alot of people that I have tried to turn onto Opeth can't stand the vocals, especially on Morningrise.

Let's talk about drummers now. Chris Adler is one of the most technically skilled metal drummers out there today. He is simply a machine. Check out the ending of "Walk with me in Hell", or "Faded Line".

Martin Axenrot is a great drummer as well, but I do not think he has the sheer talent of Chis Adler. I have seen Opeth once with Lopez, on Sounds of the Underground that was headlined by Lamb of God, but the five other times it was with Axe, and he brought it everytime. I can't wait to hear him on the new Opeth album.

Personally, I know that Opeth's songwriting skills are way above Lamb of God, but there new album Sacrament just sold 68,000 copies and was number 8 on the Billboard charts. Don't be a fool and think that Opeth should have Lamb open for them with these kind of album sales. This is america, and it is all about the money.

I cant wait to see Gigantour when it hits Detroit on September 24, but I do know that I want Opeth to have a longer set.

So true. It's not about who's "better". Sadly, it never has been. I mean, explain how it was that Hendrix opened for the Monkees and got booed off the stage... :erk: There is simply no accounting for taste.

Yes, Opeth musically is a better band. Although in the US they don't hold as much mass appeal or "mainstream" popularity and won't bring as many tickets as Lamb of God. I am a LOG fan and was happy about the cross genre line up of Gigantour. If you don't like how its set up then dont pay to see the show and give the hate a rest.

I dont give a fuck - I love Lamb of God, I've seen them twice, theyre one of the best live bands out there. And to see LoG AND Opeth at the same time is a fucking dream, it'll be amazing...I can't wait to finally see Opeth.

They're pretty good actually. I only own Ashes of the Wake, but I've found myself listening to that album more and more as of lately. Some really cool riffs and parts scattered throughout that album. I might pick up Sacrament if I don't buy a shit load of Black Metal next time I go to the CD store, like I usually do.

You guys are pathetic. Lamb Of God is amazing. Yes it took me half a year to get the vocalist to grow on me but now he has grown on me. The band is now my 4th favorite band and now I love the vocalist a whole bunch. A perfect fit. Songs like Walk With Me In Hell, Redneck, Laid To Rest, Blood Junkie, Vigil, 11th Hour, and One Gun are just some of the many Godlike songs they have made. In fact only ran into one song that I don't like from them so far (A Devil In God's Country).

yeah thats all good but Opeth the mighty legendary Opeth supporting a band like that? lmfao

Smart choice for Opeth. Lamb Of God are a very well known band. Lamb Of God fans will probably get transformed into Opeth fans if all goes well.

No. It seems like all LoG fans have horrible taste.

"opeth is teh most boring akt live. dey just stand there." Hardcore LOG fan

i saw Lame of God at SotU last year. their live sound is horrendous, very shrill guitar tone.

ATPB has probably the worst modern production I've ever heard, which is suprising considering Devin produced it. Otherwise, a good solid band...I certainly wish I could go see them at the Troc, but it's on a Tuesday night and my parents almost wouldn't let me go to Gigantour the Sunday before due to school.

listen to lamb of god if you constantly need that in-your-face, metal sound
I must say you have quite the valid point there, however I fear they simply MUST get rid of those screeching vocals. They are hardly entertaining, HARDLY.

Adn thyer i1s muc1h b2t2er bndas to 1l1tsen t00!!.....!! :Smug:

I'm a LoG fan and I like a wide varity of metal except nu metal and metalcore. And oh yea Lamb Of God's my third favorite band now because I got Sacrament today.

I fuckin love that album. I still say Sacrament is their best yet.

I'm a hardcore LOG fan, and I'm far from an uneducated teen mallcore fan that some of you people seem to think that the average LOG fan is. It's a real shame that some of you are so goddamn condescending and have a holier than thou attitude. Why are some of you so narrow minded is what I ask? I can understand someone checking out a band and then deciding that they simply don't like them, but it seems as though some people on this board have wrote off LOG from what they have heard about them, or even worse, only hearing one song. What a shame......I'm glad I didn't have that attitude with Opeth or I would have never discovered what has become my favorite band.

Lamb of God rule. Saw them at Slayer too. They deserve to headline, they hold the stage presence. They play tight. You gotta study the drumming of Alder, it's right up there with Lopez.

Someone said they sound like Pantera. They do sound more like a cross between Pantera and Slayer, but their sound is their own.

Opeth is not as good without Lopez's percussion. That's just the way that it is.............but still they are great.

LOG Opeth definitely a great show.
