Yeah I was thinking the same thing.

Ghost of Perdition's opening riff is 16 bars of 6/4 (30 seconds).

6/8 is still the same.

6/8 3/4 and 6/4. difference is that 6/8 and 3/4 make up 2 measures to match the beats of a 6/4 time signature.

Well 3/4 and 6/8 fill the same number of beats but they're still different time signatures. It's not just about beats in a bar, it's how you count the beats. 3/4 is three beats, 6/8 is more like two beats split into three, which is what you can hear in Ghost of Perdition. 6/4 is fairly unusual as there's little reason to put that instead of 3/4.

Depends on how you look at it. Remember that the riff has two tails. If you count just one of them, it's 15 seconds. But if you count the second one too (after all, we are talking about the entire riff here), it's 30.

I don't really know what time signature it is. But it doesn't matter if it's 6/8 or 3/4, because we are talking about length. I just went with what wankerness' tab says.

Yeah, I forgot about the second one. That pretty much makes it Opeth's longest riff, doesn't it? I can't think of any riff that's longer than that.

The first riff in Forest of October is 37 seconds, and I'm sure both Orchid and Morningrise are full of riffs that are really long like that.
