OT: What do you do?

Cool! I would love to work a music related job.....
I imagine though those jobs are few and far between

Dunno if Pate was talking to me or not, but yes, I crossed over into the dark side. :p

In my experience during school, yeah I quickly learned by it being thrown in my face every day (not that I didn't already know) that the jobs are few, far between and tough to get into. I wanted to get into recording engineering, but it was even tough for me to get an internship at a studio. I also saw the huge ugly side to the music biz and ultimately decided to leave it be and just remain a fan and supporter (and musician on my own time). :)

I'm a warehouse manager at an internet company that sells computer/digital memory products, and prints company logos on flash drives. I process web orders, make shipping labels, lift boxes, make sure people don't fuck up, and laugh at the fact that the Video Professor orders products from us. I am also planning on going back to school to get a degree in music composition in the next few months.

I'm a massage therapist (and occasional personal trainer) and professional stand-up philosopher (or bullshit artist for those of you who have never seen Mel Brooks' "History of the World").

Btw, the first person who makes a joke about "happy endings" gets a swift kick in the ass. :p

Hey,
You were the one who made the Tommy Lee comment about my pic.
I think I have earned the right to ask about a happy ending!!!

I am a mom, which means that I am a:
Chef
Maid
Chauffer
Teacher
Doctor
Ummm....all around Domestic Goddess :D
It's the best job in the world ;)

I am surprised Dark Tide and Narcosynthesis68 have not responded to this thread yet. I think they both have pretty interesting jobs. I'll let them describe them if they'd like.

I am a CAD guy also. Been doing it for 22 years. Worked for some pretty large firms and also private individuals. Now I do it outta my home and primarily do very high end custom residential and light commercial. I also do construction management... oversee the projects... I work way too much! Being my own boss is fine but I suppose that there is twice as much time involved.

I guess that it is interesting. The only issue that I have with how interesting that it is would be the fact that everyone wants something for nothing... And after a while, that just gets old.

Some days I think I would rather be saying "Welcome to Wally World, would you like a cart?!?!"

I’m a quality auditor for warehouses, over the years I’ve had many fancy titles. At my last job I was a “Quality Auditor and Trainer” and I start my new job next Monday as a “Quality Control Specialist” in Aurora. So I still have a week left of lazy time and I’ve been catching up on all the bands that I’ve never heard of who are playing Powerfest.

What about an option for Former Corporate Whore?

I used to be a Corporate Whore, but now I'm a flight instructor (soon to be airline pilot).

Ahhh, didn't think about that. We could add "Former Corporate Whore" if we could add this emoticon in congratuations as well: :worship:

You got out of the grind! Woo!

By the way, excellent choice of an alternative profession.

I am a waiter at a fine dining Italian restaurant and part time student. I was an evolutionary biology major but I am thinking of chaning it to something involving Folklore - ie King Arthur, Viking Folklore, Dragons etc.
