OT: Who gets the last word?

It warmed up nicely here in Portland today, real hot outside, good day to pass a cdl drive test. And passed I did. Now one more day of class, then it's 3 days of orientation with Swift next week, then I'm out driving the rest of the world.

We hit 20 C today (Americans, do your own conversions ), but we had a cold rain right in the middle of playing soccer tonight...it fucked up the other team, but I don't mind playing in a downpour, so I used it to grab a couple quick goals

I hated playing in cold rain. Especially if I was the keeper. I also hated playing in cold weather. Soccer ball against cold skin hurts like a bitch.

The weather itself wasn't cold, but the rain was big cold drops that caught everybody off guard. It also made the ball really slippery, and everybody was screwing up their throw-ins.

It's friggin hot in Portland today. 74 degrees, suns shining down. Nice day in Portland. Soccer?? What's that?

Football is the world's game, but is largely ignored in North America because we suck at it. So we change "football" into a sport that nobody else in the world plays (and even Canadians and Americans don't play by the same rules), so we can be the best at it, and call the real football "soccer"

Actually, and in all honesty, the real football is rugby, which was called rugby football until football and football stole the word football.

Yeah, well, I try and fool myself into thinking I'm still in shape. Hey, 4 goals in 2 games, I'm not too far gone yet.

You know, I never scored a goal when I played. Of course, I was either keeper or fullback...

I was either goalie, or the halfback spot. sometimes a foward. but, helped to be on a good team. one year we didn't win a game the entire season. our first goal was scored I think 4 or 5 games in.

The league we play in basically has optional defense, and the short straw gets stuck in net. Some games have finsihed 16-11, 12-8 that kind of thing. Last season I had a five-goal game (we still lost 12-7).
