I'm really in to power/progressive metal and I'm looking for some new stuff that's Christian. I do listen to bands like Dream Theater, Sonata Arctica, Shadow Gallery, great stuff like that just to name a few. I'm looking for great Christian bands like Theocracy, Darkwater and Harmony. I have gone to Metal Archives, I just don't feel like going thought all the stuff that I might not like. Any help would be awesome. :D

Sinbreed (One of the best), Narnia, Majestic Vanguard, Savior Machine (I haven't heard much but I hear they are good), Seventh Avenue (Same vocalist as Sinbreed so it rocks!), and there are a few others...

I'm in the same boat as you and I'm very picky about what goes into my ears. Perhaps I'm too religious-minded but I hold bands that say they are Christian to a standard of Christianity. That's why I always bug the people in this group asking if a band is Christian, and not just say they are. Usually, I can google the lyrics and tell by that but sometimes I come up with nothing.

Other than Theocracy, which is the best, I've found a few others:

Divinefire
Harmony
Rob Rock
Golden Resurrection

(some of these bands have some great albums and some not so great. Some albums still hold to the "sha-NA-na-NA" and organ sounds of the 70s. But some are really, well, THEOCRACY-like)

I'm still evaluating a few others to see if the Spirit inside of me approves. I'll keep you posted when I find new stuff that I'm sure is Christian.

Just went to the Death is Gain site that Prometheus mentioned. I can't seem to find any of their songs but I can tell from reading the Web site and facebook that this is definitely a Christian group.

Teramaze: album "Tears to dust" - progressive melodic metal, haven't found any samples, only of their new album that sounds very different.
At least here are the lyrics of "Tears to dust": http://www.metal-archives.com/release.php?id=39207
Ahh, here are some short samples: http://teramaze.8m.com/sounds.htm
Be sure to listen to the samples of the album "Tears to dust" for Melodic Metal.

I tried to download it, but tracks 5 and 6 didn't work. It said they were "corrupted"...

That's odd. Did you download each song separately? Or did you get the entire album in one download?

Oh, and check out SoullHunter's Scanning Horizons album. It's also free to download. It's amazing.

The full album, 128kb/s version. I tried the individual songs, but it just opened them in Windows Media Player instead of downloading them.
Aaaaaaaaaand now I just realized how I can fix that. Let's try...

I also didn't realize they're a Christian band. Reading the lyrics now, I couldn't see it until the ones for the song Birthright.

Okay, it seems to be working now. I am having to download some of the tracks more than once, on account of it only having part of it the first time, but it's going.

OH YEAH! \m/ Soullhunter is good!

Yep. He is no longer a part of Menahem. I believe he actually left shortly after Angels and Shadows. They do have a new vocalist though, as for new material...I haven't heard any updates. Have you?

Yeah...their lyrics don't really focus on Christianity. But by their testimony, they wrote the album solely about hope.

OH YEAH! m/ Soullhunter is good!

I can't believe I haven't heard of these guys sooner. They're incredible.
