Once upon a time... my hair went down to my ass, no split ends. The upside of spending half my youth in the Polish hair salon, the ladies took good care of it, even tho they disapproved. Then nature took it's course, and I realized I couldn't pull off the Devin Townsend look, so out came the razor.
Oh, and because I keep forgetting to PM you about the anvil/steel thing, finding a GOOD anvil cheaply isn't easy. I use a 110# one from Harbor Freight (cheap import knockoff tool store) that's workable, but not great, but at $100 it was the cheapest I could find that was actually steel. Most of the cheap ones you see online are actually cast iron, and will break apart under use. Some of the ones Harbor Freight carries are also cast iron, the only real way to test is to tap it with a hammer. Steel will ring, and iron will thud.
